Bug Ah-Verr-Nite points the SV Luna Moth toward the jump point, and accelerates!
When Bug Ah-Verr_Nite recovers from the unfamiliar experience of Jump Shock, he finds himself in the Sirius star system.
A tremendously bright A1-V primary star, 62 times brighter than the Home Sun, surrounded by four planets, none of which is very suitable for colonization. A dim White Dwarf companion star, only 1% as bright as the Home Sun, circles at a distance of 3 billion km. It has no planets.
Bug Ah-Verr-Nite will return to Home Sun to continue the search.

One annoying point is that I can't seem to figure out where the Jump Shock status of a ship is shown... I just have to keep attempting a transit until it succeeds.

One of our no-name Scientists was researching Powered Infantry Armor when he suffered a fatal lab accident. It appears that the prototype Powered Armor went out of control and ripped all his legs off. Serves him right for designing the control circuitry so poorly.

SV Luna Moth has found a second Jump Point. (Still none for SV Mars Moth).

The second Jump Point leads to Proxima Centauri, a completely barren system. An M6-V Red Dwarf primary... and nothing else. No planets, no moons, no asteroids, no comets.

It's true that there are only four planets, none of which is worth colonizing at our tech level.
But there are FIFTEEN of the fifty asteroids that are in the same temperature range as Mars, and one of them even has acceptable gravity!
So we could colonize one Sirian asteroid with ordinary life-support infrastructure, and fourteen more with low-G infrastructure (which costs twice as much).

The new Jump Point leads to Wolf 359, an M6-V Red Dwarf with five Gas Giants (one of them a Super-Jovian), three Dwarf Planets and two Terrestrial Planets...
… one of them a Mars-like planet (class-2) with a Nitrogen-Methane atmosphere. Our Bugs won't be aware that the Prix favor just this sort of world...
