So I see a lot of people have spoken about doing three of these at once, but after doing some theorycrafting, it turns out it should be possible to also complete the achievement "From Humble Beginnings". I think this might be incredibly difficult, but it also strikes me as potentially being a lot of fun. The biggest handicap you have by going for all four at once is that you can't start with any Colonists, locking you into taking Exploration Ideas first thing. To make matters worse, if you want any good Traditions/Ideas/Ambition, you have to have a ruler, heir, and consort all at 0/0/0 with a negative trait. The last bit is easy enough by picking up Malevolence, as your current ruler will die before Liberty Desire can be an issue. Lastly, you have to pick one of the two Greenland provinces as your capital. This... is gonna be rough. I might not even be able to pull it off. Maybe it's not even possible, I dunno yet, but I'm gonna try! For those interested, here is my setup.

Lastly, you have to pick one of the two Greenland provinces as your capital.
Is there a reason for this? There are plenty of 3 development provinces in the New World, and if you exile yourself to Greenland you are losing a lot of initial expansion opportunities; in a similar achievement run, I placed my province south of the Mexicans and conquered my way into Mexico.

Don't you have to start somewhere in "Scandinavia+Greenland" to do the "For Odin!" achievement, as well as somewhere in the Americas for "First Come, FIrst Serve"? The only place that fulfills both criteria is Greenland. Or am I misunderstanding how these achievements work?

For Odin has no starting area restriction.

I did 2 runs for For Odin! + Ideas Guy + First Come, First Serve... (yes, without from humble origins! :p I did it with the zoroastrian one)
The first one was a failure because I choose to start in Canada. There is so less development here that you are lacking money and you might be easily stumped by the european. The progression was so slow.
I did the second one by being an OPM in Miami, Florida. It is a 3 dev province. But, it has a big advantage. You can colonize Cuba and all the Caribeans very quickly. You'll become wealth before europeans show up. My first war against europeans was Portugal in 1532. By that date, I had removed all the mesoamericans and the incas from the map, and I controlled the Carribeans. It is easy game from here :) I had the three achievements by 1790 (I was then a very slow player to expand :p)
I did it in ver. 1.19.

I think the main reason people haven't been doing from humble origins combined with first come first serve is the 75 points cost of the western tech group. I was planning to do them all together until I realized this, but I didn't want that bad ideas/rulers/governmentform.

If you are doing first come first serve, make sure you don't fully annex any colonizers without taking their colonies first. You'll end up getting their colonies, which won't count towards the achievement.

It happened in my run and I managed to increase their liberty desire enough to have support independance from France and then they DoW me :D It was fun.
