The Azai clan rest dead center on the main Island of Japan. Completely landlocked, they are bordered by The Toyotomi, Oda, Maeda, The Emperor himself and the Shogun. I wonder what alliances will come out of this...

This AAR will be like my Tachibana. A slow paced story telling towards the Unification of Japan and beyond.

House Rules
1) I will be using my Mod for this one
2) Everything is on normal and Lucky Nations is off
2) My colonist are set to normal.
3) Vassal and PU Limit Is 3. Which means, no more then three nations can be my underlings at the same time.
4) Will not go over Infamy Limit. If Gone over the Infamy limit, then Vassals must be released until there are 5 points between amount and limit.
5) No Cheats unless for good storyline purposes

Odani Castle​

Yoshimochi: Nagamasa-sama.
Nagamasa- Yes, Yoshimochi-dono?
Yoshimochi- Tennō Heika Go-Kamatsu has summoned for you.
Nagamasa: The Emperor is calling for me? Hmm. I wonder what for. Make preparations for my leave.
Yoshimochi: Yes my lord.

Nagamasa Azai, the Third head of the Azai Clan. The first of the Clan, Sukemasa, fought his way up from a lowly Rōnin to become a daimyo. He, along with his son, Hisamasa, built what is now the capital of the Azai clan, Odani Castle, himself. After Sukemasa died in battle against rival clan the Rokakku, Hisamasa, took the head of the Clan. Hisamasa was a man of small prowess. He was not that great a military leader, and after several failing battles, their home was taken, and they retreated to Echigo province, which was owned by then ally the Asakura. Together with the Asakura, they marched down into Omi, and retook the castle, completely wiping out the Rokakku clan. Nagamasa showed such great strength and leadership, that he abdicated the seat to Nagamasa. Nagamasa has only recently has he taken the seat at the head of the clan. Nagamasa is still young. He was still learning the ways of Japan, and what it means to hold such responsibility.
(STORYLINE PURPOSES. NOT PERFECTLY HISTORICALLY CORRECT)​

He got up and walked out into the courtyard. His Father, Hisamasa comes walking down the hall.

Nagamasa: Otōsan.

He bows his head to say hello.

Hisamasa: My son. How many times must I tell you. You are the clan leader now.
Nagamasa: And I must remind you, that even without your title, you are still my father and former head of this clan. Respect must be givin where respect is due.
Hisamasa: Hahaha. I hear that the Emperor calls for you. You better be on your best not to dishonour yourself in his presence.
Nagamasa: Of course Otōsan. I will do nothing to bring shame to my clan. But I am nervous. This will be my first time going to Kyoto to see the Emperor...
Hisamasa: Do I need to accompany you? I have visited the Emperor a few times. But he has passed away and his son has taken over.
Nagamasa: That is why I am nervous. I have no Idea what to do once I get there.
Womans Voice: You might get lucky and he bear you with a wife.

Both men turn to look. Nagamasa's mother Nene, comes walking down the hallway.

Nagamasa: Okāsan
Nene: Hello. How are my two favorite men in the world?
Nagamasa: I'm a little nervous.
Hisamasa: Well, you just became head of the clan. Plus, we are the closest Clan to Kyoto.
Nene: I wonder what the girls are like in Kyoto. You might find a very nice one about your age.
Hisamasa: Stop it, thats the least of his worries right now.
Nene: But I want grandchildren!!
Nagamasa: Stop it Okāsan.

They all shared a laugh.

Yoshimochi returned and kneeled before the three.

Yoshimochi: I'm sorry to interrupt. Your horse is ready to leave.
Nagamasa: Thank you. Otōsan. Do you still wish to come?
Hisamasa: It would be my honour.
Nene: You too are going to leave me here alone? What should I do for the time being...
Nagamasa: We will only be gone for for a few hours. We'll be back soon.

A Few Hour Later In The Outskirts Of Omi Province​

Hisamasa: We should be about halfway there.
Nagamasa: We really arent that far from the capital.
Hisamasa: Its almost 3/4 of the day walking.
Nagamasa: How do you know that? (he asked Jestingly)
Hisamasa: Thats a story for another time, my son.

They share a quick laugh?

In the distance they see another group of men coming towards them. They are Samurai guarding a caravan. On back of the Caravan is a Mon to a clan that they dont recognize.

Nagamasa: Who do you suppose that is?
Hisamasa: I have no Idea.
Nagamasa: I must not take any chances. Men. Move to the side of the road and allow them to pass.

They move to the opposite of the road and halt to give the caravan a chance to move by as they approach each other.

The Caravans goes to pass by, and inside the caravan you can hear laughter and chatter of inebriated(Drunk) men. As they pass, one of the four men in the caravan hangs out of the window in a laughing way and drops his bottle of Saké. The loud crash cause the the horses to startle. The carriage jerks and the man gets thrown out of the caravan and to the floor. All the horses begin to buckle, due to the startle. after the horse are calmed, the men inside the caravan get out. The one that fell out is dazed still laying on the floor. The other three look at The Azai clan with anger. They stare at each other for a minute, and the tension begins to rise. the samurai guarding the caravan begin to unsheathe their Katana. Then, the one on the ground begins to laugh. Slowly, everyone else begins to join in with him. Soon, they all break down into a laughing rage.

A few minutes pass and Nagamasa has gotten off of his horse to help them recollect themselves.

One of the men. turns to Nagamasa and says: I'm sorry for all that.
Nagamasa: It is quite alright.
Man: Sorry, how could I be so rude. My name is Nagamoto Jinbo. Heir to the Jinbo Clan.
Nagamasa: The Jinbo Clan? I have never heard of the Jinbo Clan. My name is Nagamasa Azai. I Am the Daimyo of Omi Province.
Nagamoto: Your a Daimyo? So Young. You look younger then me. And you said Omi. Arent we in Omi right now?
Nagamasa: Yes. We are on our way to Kyoto for Tennō Heika Go-Kamatsu has summoned for me.
Nagamoto: Ha. We are just leaving from seeing him and are on our way back to our home in Etchu Province. He had summoned for our Daimyo.
Nagamasa: Ah, your directly east of Echigo province. Which one is your Daimyo?
Nagamoto: The Drunk man that fell out of the caravan...
Nagamasa: oh... well that is unfortunate.
Hisamasa: Nagamasa, we must not keep Heika waiting...
Nagamoto: Ah I am sorry for stopping you. Please, be on your way.
Nagamasa: Well, I hope that when you become head of your clan, that me and you can keep in touch. Hopefully with no one falling to their near death...
Nagamoto: HAHAHAHA!! until Fate Brings us Back together then.

The Two shook hands. And after a few goodbyes, each went on their way...

*Hana Ichi Monme - A game very similar to red rover (I use to play this in Japan Growing up. What you do is, instead of running to the other side and breaking the line, like they do in america, two random people got to the center and play Janken(Rock-Paper-Scissors) and the winner takes the other one to their side as a prisoner.)

The City of Kyoto​

Nagamasa: This City..... It's huge. Its.... too big.
Hisamasa: Hahaha!! What do you mean? You might govern a land such as this if you can.
Nagamasa: How so?
Hisamasa: How do you think these other Daimyo get such land?
Nagamasa: War... At the moment I would much rather not be a warring nation.
Hisamasa: Take this from experience, it was that same attitude that lost me Odani Castle the first time. I beg that you dont let the same happen to you.
Nagamasa: Do not worry Otōsan, it will not.
Hisamasa: I do not want you to suffer the same shame that I live with every day. I have shamed my fathers name.
Nagamasa: Otōsan...
Hisamasa: Dont worry about it son. Look, I can see the Castle. Lets hurry.

The men approached the Castle, where the guards stopped them. They dismounted their horses and were searched. The guards took their weaponry and were led inside.

----------------------Kyōto-gosho: November 26, 1299-----------------------​

Guard: The Emperor Now enters.

Both Nagamasa and Hisamasa bow. They go as far to do so at a 90 degree angle, as to show an immense sign of respect. They hear the shuffling of feet. Not just one persons, but many. They also hear the gangling of the gems on the Emperors garments. They have not yet seen the emperor, for they bow with their eyes closed.

Voice: You may lift your heads.

Nagamasa is puzzled by the pitch in the voice. Nagamsa himself is only 18, but the voice sounded even younger. He looked up and began to survey the room. The room, filled at first with only him, his father and the three guards that escorted them. Now, there were more guards and women. He then lay eyes on he one who sat at the center of the room. A boy. A very small boy, maybe only 8 to 12 years old.

Nagamasa: Heika, I thank you for summoning for me and allowing me the grace of being in the same room as you.
Go-Kamatsu: Your more then welcome. Do you know why I have called you here?
Nagamasa: No. I am afraid I do not.
Go-Kamatsu: I wanted to welcome you to my palace and congratulate you on becoming the Daimyo of Omi province.
Nagamasa: Thank you. It is an honour to have your blessing.
Go-Kamatsu: Omi province is not that far from here? How long did it take you to get here?
Nagamasa: Our castle is only about a 12 hour trip to here. We of course stopped to rest, so I would say 15 in all.
Go-Kamatsu: hm. I would love to travel.
Nagamasa: You are more then welcome to visit me at Odani castle. It's not as grand as this castle, but it still has a glamour to it. Plus, you could see the Sakura Tree garden that ojiisama planted. It is quite beautiful. We use it to play our games.
Go-Kamatsu: I would love to go!! What games can we play!?
Nagamasa: oh... Well, there is a small stone area were we hold the annual Bīdama Tournament.
Go-Kamatsu: Oh!! I have my own Bīdama set. I bet you cant beat me!! What else!!

Nagamasa looked into the eyes of the child and realized, that because he was the emperor, he didnt have many friends and was cooped into the palace. He seen the joy it brought to him. and the hope that he might have found a friend. Nagamasa knew what was needed to be a leader. He wouldnt wish it on the young.

Nagamasa: We also have a nice big game of Hana Ichi Monme. So far, I play the leader against my father, and I have yet to beat him in a match. Maybe with your help, we might actually win!!
Go-Kamatsu: I know we would!! I want to play so much!!
Voice: I'm sorry, but that is impossible.

Nagamasa turned to look at the direction of the voice. A man draped in all whit walked into the room. On his back, lay a Mon that no man in Japan did not recognize. It was the Mon of the Shogun, Yoshimasu Ashikage. Nagamasa glanced back at the shogun, and saw the joy in his eyes fade away. The young boy's looks of joy disappear, only to be filled with the look of Despair.

Go-Kamatsu: But, I.
Yoshimasu: No. you must not leave the castle. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! I allowed the other daimyo to come in but you have taken it to far.
Go-Kamatsu: But I want to go outside. I dont like being forced to stay in this castle.
Yoshimasu: But you are the Emperor. It is your Job!!
Go-Kamatsu: How would you know!!
Nagamasa: Heika, if it isnt too much trouble. I can come back and play with you a few times a month.
Go-Kamatsu: Really!! Please, I beg of you!!
Yoshimasu: No. You, you have overstayed your welcome. Leave now, and never return.
Nagamasa: I am sorry for causing the inconvenience. I did not mean to start trouble...
Yoshimasu: If you dont leave now, I will have you killed.

Nagamasa stood up, He bowed to the Emperor, then bowed to the Shogun and walked out of the room. His father was waiting outside the room. He grabbed his sons shoulder and they walked out of the palace together. As they reached the front door, a woman called out to them. They turned to look. It was a woman that Nagamasa recognized in the throne room. Nagamasa walked to meet her half way. She was an older woman. She was accompanied by three much younger women.

Nagamasa: Hello. Ma'am.
Woman: Thank goodness I caught you. I would like to deeply express my gratitude for what you did in the room a minute ago. It really touched my heart that there are still young ones like you around.
Nagamasa: It was my pleasure ma'am.
Hisamasa: Nagamasa, when are you going to bow...

Nagamasa looked at his father, who was bowing. Nagamasa was confused.

Hisamasa: I'm not going to tell you again. Your supposed to bow before the Empress...

Nagamasa's eyes widened. He turned and looked at her again. He dropped down to his hands and knees. (Shown Below)

Nagamasa: I am so sorry!! Please forgive me. I had no Idea.
Katsuko(Empress Name): It is fine. I am not the Empress anymore.
Nagamasa: Please dont let my error be brushed aside so easily. I have shamed myself.

Lady Kasuko giggled and looked at the three women behind her. They all shared a giggle.

Katsuko: Please stand, Nagamasa.
Nagamasa: I truly am sorry.
Hisamasa: It is fine Nagamasa.
Katsuko: Its been a while Hisamasa. Are you doing well?
Hisamasa: Very. You seem to be doing well yourself.
Katsuko: Somewhat. I am in a dilemma. And its a dilemma only a mother can feel. Im worried about my son. He lives too sheltered. Its a life no mother wants for their son...
Hisamasa: I understand. I had went through hell with his mother giving up my seat as Daimyo.
Katsuko: Well, me and my daughters have a proposition for you Nagamasa.
Nagamasa: Daughters? The women behind you I presume?

The three women bow.

Katsuko: We would like to take you up on your offer.
Nagamasa: My... Offer?
Katsuko: Your offer to play with Go-Kamatsu.
Nagamasa: Yes? but the Shogun..
Katsuko: To hell with the Shogun. We will be visiting Odani Castle in the near future. Please be prepared for it.
Nagamasa: Of course!! I would be honoured. And will it be the 5 of you? I will prepare a feast. I will adress everyone on the upcoming...

Kastuko cuts him off.

Katsuko: Of course. But, if I can give a request...
Nagamasa: Yes Kōgō Katsuko?
Katsuko: When we get there, please treat him as a child, and not as the Emperor. No large over the top feast. No festival for his arrival. He needs a friend. A real Friend. Not another guardian. Please. If it is too much to ask, I dont want this to become a burden...
Nagamasa: You will never become a burden. I will become Go-Kamatsu friend, and I will do so with pleasure. I must go make preparations. I take my leave and will see you all upon your arrival to Odani castle...

What an opening. I have always been impressed by the amount of respect and honour of Japanese people. I forget that I'm reading an AAR. I look forward to more.

Odani Castle​

Nagamasa: Otōsan. I just received a letter.
Hisamasa: Pretaining to?
Nagamasa: Our Special guests are on their way.
Hisamasa: Oh. Their long awaited arrival is soon to be upon us. I will go spread the word.
Nagamasa: No. Actually, dont. I think we should let it be a surprise. The Kōgō Katsuko wanted him to be treated as a normal boy. So that is what we shall do.
Nene: Who? I think I heard a girls name...
Nagamasa: Okāsan. Be on your best behavior.
Nene: A girl is coming over! Finally!
Hisamasa: Actually, there are four.
Nene: Oh, my son has some juice on him. Are your diplomatic skills that good?
Nagamasa: Stop it you two. There is no girl. It is something else.

There was a knock at the door.

Yoshimochi: Nagamasa-sama. As you requested, there has been a caravan spotted in the distance making its way straight here.
Nagamasa: Thank you. Well, I guess its time. Otōsan, meet me at the front gate?
Nene: Oh! I need to go get ready.

Lady Nene walks away. The two men share a laugh and make their way to the front gate.

--------------------------------A Short Time Later--------------------------------------​

The caravan has reached the front gate. Nagamasa and Hisamasa stand in anticipation for their guests. But as Nagamasa observes, he notices that there are no guards with them. Kōgō Katsuko is the first to get out of the caravan.

Nagamasa: Kōgō Katsuko, It is an honour.
Katsuko: What a beautiful place this is. Its so different from Kyoto.
Nagamasa: It seems this is your first time coming here as well.
Katsuko: It is. I was born in Yamato province. I was immediately moved to Kyoto and raised to be a maid. That was until Hidenka saw me and made me his wife. His father was furious. But enough about that.
Hisamasa: This seems to be as much for you as it is for your son.
Katsuko: Oh hush.
Nagamasa: So, if I may ask, where are your guards and consorts?
Katsuko: You may not ask!
Nagamasa: I apologize. So, I have done as you instructed, no one in the house knows who you are. From their prespective, you should be treated as any other noble family.
Katsuko: Wonderful! Well, we can stand out here and talk or we can go inside and you can give us the tour.
Go-Kamatsu: Okāsan.... can we get out now?
Katsuko: Of course Go-chan.

Go-Kamatsu jumps out of the Caravan with excitement. He looks around with a wide smile from ear to ear. He lays eyes on Nagamasa and runs and gives him a Hug.

Go-Kamatsu: Nagamasa! I am so glad to see you!! Okāsan didnt tell me where we were going and said it was a surprise!
Nagamasa: Your that happy to see me?

Go-Kamatsu nodded his head.

Nagamasa: This is your first time leaving the castle right? How do you like my castle?
Go-Kamatsu: Its amazing!! It goes up higher then ours!! Ours is only one story.
Nagamasa: Ours is three.

Go-Kamatsu's eyes widened with excitement.

Katsuko: Well go on Naga-chan. Give him a tour!!
Nagamasa: Yes!!

They began walking up towards the castle.

Hisamasa: Haha. His mother hasnt called him Naga-chan since he was about your sons age.
Katsuko: Oh. I hope I didnt do anything wrong.
Hisamasa: Quite the opposite. He wanted his mother to continue calling him such, but after a while, she stopped with the pet names.
Katsuko: Oh. I havent introduced my daughters yet. This is my oldest Kimiko, my second, Miyako and my third child Tsukiko.

They all bowed.
Kimiko was almost Nagamasa's age. She was 17.
Miyako was 14 years old.
Tsukiko was 9, a year older then Go-Kamatsu.

Hisamasa: Pleasure to meet you all.
Tsukiko: Okāsan. Im hungry.
Katsuko: Oh. You poor thing.
Hisamasa: Follow me. I will take you all to the dining area.

------------------------------------At The Front Door-------------------------------------​

Nene: Oh. Hello there. I was just coming out to meet with you guys.
Nagamasa: Okāsan. I want you to meet my friend, Go-chan. Go-chan, this is my Okāsan, Nene.

Go-Kamatsu bowed.

Go-Kamatsu: Hello. We gonna go play in the Sakura Garden!!
Nene: Why hello there Go-chan. You have fun with my son ok.

They both walked off. Shortly after, Hisamasa entered the room.

Hisamasa: Ah, Nene. Your here. Come meet the guests.
Katsuko: Why hello there.
Nene: Hello, you gys were sure talking alot outside. I must have missed out on some good conversation. You must have been trying to steal my husband from me.
Katsuko: Oh. I wouldnt. He is happily yours.

They shared a laugh.

Nene: My name is Nene. I am the pleased to meat you.
Katsuko: My name is Katsuko. Its a pleasure.
Nene: So where are you visiting from?
Katsuko: Kyoto.
Nene: Ah, the big city. It must be a pain to get around the city. I'm from Kyoto as well. What ward are you from.
Katsuko: uh... Nakagyō.
Nene: Nakagyō? Wow. you lived right near the Palace.
Katsuko: Actually, we live in the palace.
Nene: ...... Excuse me?
Hisamasa: Nene. This is Katsuko Yamato, the Empress of Japan.
Nene: ............
Katsuko: ?
Nene: ............
Hisamasa: Nene, say something.
Nene: I.... I am talking to the Kōgō Heika....
Hismasa: Yes.
Nene: Then, that little boy was.....
Katsuko: My son, The Emperor of Japan.
Nene: Oh my. I have shown such disrespect!!
Katsuko: No its fine. I asked for this. I just want my family to be treated normal.
Hisamasa: Well, the little one is hungry, can we take the girls to the dining area?
Nene: Of course. Shall we?

Go-Kamatsu: Whoa... everything is pink!! Its so girly!! Kimiko would love it here!!
Nagamasa: Kimiko?
Go-Kamatsu: Oneechan.
Nagamasa: Your sister? Are they here?
Kimiko: Yes. We were just in the Kitchen eating.

Nagamasa turned to look, and he saw a very well kept woman, no older then he was. He was swayed by her beauty.

Kimiko: Arent you hungry Go-chan?
Go-Kamatsu: A little, but I wanna play some more.
Katsuko: No, your going to come eat.
Go-Kamatsu: Aww. But we were about to start a game...
Katsuko: Now.
Go-Kamatsu: ...Ok...

Go-Kamatsu got up and walked to his mother. Kimiko turned to leave with them.

Katsuko: Where do you think your going?
Kimiko: Ba... Back with you.
Katsuko: Oh no you dont. This is a Sakura Garden. Not Everyday you get to see one. Go have a seat over there next to him.

Kimiko turned and looked at Nagamasa, who was staring into the distance. She started to get nervous.

Kimiko: B-But, Okāsan...
Katsuko: Do it. Dont be shy! Naga-chan.

Nagamasa turned to look.

Katsuko: Can you keep Kimiko company for a while. Take her for a walk around the Garden.
Nagamasa: Um... Of course. I would love to.

Kimiko looked at him Blushing. He then began to blush too, just realizing what he said.

Katsuko: Now dont get too familiar in one go. These things take time.
Kimiko: Okāsan!! Stop!!
Katsuko: Whats wrong, I'm just looking out for my daughter.
Kimiko: But you know I have never had an encounter for a Suitor... I dont know what to do or say.... I dont even know if he likes me...
Katsuko: And neither does he. I also heard he finds you quite beautiful.
Kimiko: He does... I have never been called beautiful...

She turned to look at him. He was nervous kinda twirling his fingers, not knowing what to do...

Katsuko: Go. I'm not leaving till you have a seat.
Go-Kamatsu: Yea, go get em tiger!
Kimiko: STOP IT YOU TWO!! Fine...

Kimiko walks over to Nagamasa.

Kimiko: M-M-May I Have T-This Seat....
Nagamasa: I... uh... Of c-c-course...
Katsuko: Oh Nagamasa.

Kimiko and Nagamasa both turn to look. She looks at Nagamasa, and gave him a wink. She then turns and walks away.

Kimiko: Okāsan!!! Oh I'm so embarrassed...

Kimiko Buries her face into her hands. Go-Kamatsu and Katsuko walk down the hall towards the dining area.

Go-Kamatsu: Good one, Okāsan.
Katsuko: Was it? I thought I did it kinda roughly. Hopefully everything will be ok.
Go-Kamatsu: So, if this does work out. I will be able to come here as much as I want right?

Odani Castle, Dining Area​

Nene: Ah, Go-chan. How was my son, is he behaving himself?
Go-Kamatsu: He's the best!!
Nene: Thats good to hear. Now go have a seat over there and I will make you something to eat.

Go-Kamatsu bowed and ran to the table.

Nene: Aww. He is so energetic. I miss my son being like that!!
Katsuko: But you have a wonderful son.
Nene: I know but sometimes, I feel as if hes gotten too old. I cant baby him anymore.
Katsuko: No matter how old, all sons love to get babied by there mothers. Even yours.
Nene: It was about your sons age that my son started practicing Kendo. After a while, I just started seeing him as a man.
Katsuko: I see what you mean. But, I already have my daughters. I had to watch them grow up and not be the mother that I wanted to be.
Nene: That must of been horrible. I couldnt do such a thing.
Katsuko: My husband raised the girls to be proper. They never had a chance to have any fun. But now that he has passed away, I get to try and make up for it.
Nene: How so?
Katsuko: For one, my Daughter and your son are having a nice walk in the Sakura Garden.
Nene: Are they really. oh, I wanna go spy.
Katsuko: You too. I thought I would be intruding.
Nene: I will hurry up with the food.

Odani Castle, Sakura Garden​

The two of them sat on the edge of the hallway. Kimiko still had her face buried in her hands. Neither of them was saying a word. They would occasionally glance at each other, then look away.

Nagamasa: So..... um....

She turned to look at him.

Nagamasa: How do you like, the Garden?

Kimiko looked around and began to admire it. She was able to sit there, and take in the full effect of such beauty.

Kimiko: Its Beautiful.
Nagamasa: I tend to it myself. Its the Daimyo's duty to make it beautiful. Its supposed to use the same aspect on how to keep our clan. Beautiful Garden, Strong Family.
Kimiko: your family seems pretty well balance. And you all love each other greatly.
Nagamasa: That is until, I have my own Family. They say that the hardest part is keeping it beautiful when you first have a child, as you must tend to your children, before doing all else.
Kimiko: Thats amazing. So it seems that you have a soft side.
Nagamasa: Okāsan has been dying for me to have children. I want to please her with them, but I just havent found a wife that both of us can accept.
Kimiko: Isnt it a little early in the relationship to be talking about children?
Nagamasa: I... uh....

Kimiko giggled.

Kimiko: I guess that would be a plus for men. It shows them how to be compassionate.
Nagamasa: I see. I never looked at it like that. But that is a good way to look at it.
Kimiko: Haha.
Nagamasa: Haha.

Nene and Katsuko are watching in the background.

Katsuko: Dont they make the cutest couple!
Nene: Oh, if this keeps up, I may have a grand baby in no time!!
Katsuko: Oh, lets not move to fast. These take time.
Hisamasa: What are you two doing.

They both turn and look at him.

In Unison: SSHHHH!!
Nene: Look, our son is spending time with a woman!!
Katsuko: I think we might have started something!!
Hisamasa: Will you give them some privacy.
In Unison: But...
Hisamasa: Now!!

The two of them walk away moping. Hisamasa looked over at Nagamasa who was staring at him. They lock eyes and Nagamasa mouths 'Thank You'. Hisamasa gives him a thumbs up and walks away.

Kimiko: Whats so funny?
Nagamasa: Nothing.

Odani Castle, Front Gate​

Katsuko: Thank you all for the fun day. I had a Blast.
Nene: It was a pleasure. Your welcome here as much as you want.
Hisamasa: Of course, your whole family is.
Nene: But do you have to leave now? They are getting along so well.

They all turn to look at Nagamasa and Kimiko have a private conversation.

Nagamasa: I guess its time for you to go...
Kimiko: Yes. We must go back to the capital.
Nagamasa: I'm going to go out on a limb here. But, I really enjoyed spending time with you.
Kimiko: I did too.
Nagamasa: Your welcome to come back anytime you want. Y-you can even stay here if you'd like...
Kimiko: That was out on a limb.
Nagamasa: Sorry, this is my first time.... talking to a woman of your caliber. I just dont want to do anything to lose this. Its the only time I have ever felt like this...
Kimiko: .......
Nagamasa: Sorry. I took it too far.
Kimiko: No, you missed you cue.
Nagamasa: My cue.
Kimiko: That was the part where you were supposed to kiss me.

Nagamasa slowly crept closer embraced her gently and on that moment... They shared their first Kiss. Hisamasa glanced and seen the kiss. He got the attention of the women and showed them. They both smiled from ear to ear.

Katsuko: We are having the wedding here no?
Nene: Is that ok? Shall I begin the preparations?
Hisamasa: No, not yet. We wait for your next visit to discuss that.
Nene: So you will be back tomorrow?
Katsuko: Of course.

They all shared a laugh.

And with that, I have written all the way to chapter 10. Now, all we need is time for them to be released. In the mean time, I might actually draw out the characters. Seeing as I grew up in Japan, My drawings look like they would come from an Anime. We shall see how it goes!!

第5章: My Prince Of Honour

Odani Castle, Sakura Garden​

Its been two weeks since the visit of the Yamato family. Everything continues as normal. Nagamasa and Kimiko had been sending letters back and forth between each other. Their love seemed to flourish more and more as the letter frequency increased. That was, until the letters stopped. Out of no where, the letters stopped arriving. All communication between them stopped. Nagamasa sat in the spot him and Kimiko first talked. He stared into his Sakura Garden, troubled.

Hisamasa: Son, are you sure your Ok.
Nagamasa: I wish I could say that I was... But...
Hisamasa: What do you want to do.
Nagamasa: I... dont know... Do you think I did something wrong?
Hisamasa: Of course not. I know you, you would never say anything to hurt a woman. I raised you correctly.
Nagamasa: Then what should I do...
Nene: Go to Kyoto and see her.
Nagamasa: But, The Shogun told me to never return.
Nene: But your heart is telling you otherwise. The Shogun does not stand above the Emperor. The Emperors words are absolute.
Nagamasa: But, I do not want to bring fissure to the court.
Hisamasa: Do you love this woman.
Nagamasa: Yes.
Nene: Then Why are you still here talking?
Yoshimochi: Nagamasa-sama. A letter has just arrived for you.

Nagamasa jumped up and ran to retrieve it from him. He opened it. The letter was water ridden, as if someone had spilled a drink on it.

To Nagamasa,

I am so sorry that I have not written to you in these past few weeks. It seems that the Shogun has caught wind of our trip to see you. He has forbidden us to communicate with you altogether. Go-Kamatsu has not stopped crying since. I have tried to send you letters before, but Yoshimasu-sama has been taking them. It pains to keep from you. He said that if we communicate at all, he would brand you as a traitor to Emperor, and have you killed. So please, do not reply. This will be the last letter you get from me, as Yoshimasu has arranged for me to marry his son, Yoshihisa. The wedding is set to be in a little over a week, on the 19th. I know I never said it to you before, but I will now express my true feelings for you. Even though we have only spent time together once, that was all I needed to see the heart that you have inside you. It has connected to mine. I do not believe that I can go along with this wedding. I do not have the strength to be with a man I do not love. A man that is not you. I love you, with all my heart and soul. So this will be our final goodbye, My Prince of Honour.​

Nagamasa understood. It wasnt a drink that spilled on the paper, they were tears of sorrow. Nagamasa had added tears to the paper. His Mother and Father stood across from him, their eyes began to tear up.

Hisamasa: I'm so sorry son.
Nene: My poor boy. That poor family. Who does that Shogun think he is!!
Nagamasa: ........
Hisamasa: Are you ok?
Nagamasa: No, but I will be.
Hisamasa: No. You heard what she said.
Nagamasa: Otōsan, If I do not return, you will have to resume as Daimyo.
Nene: What, no you cant!!
Nagamasa: I make leave for Kyoto, Tonight.
Hisamasa: I wont let my son ride to his death!!
Nagamasa: Then you condemn me to die here alone?
Hisamasa:..... I...
Nene: Nagamasa, I will let you leave on one condition. Bring the whole family back with you.
Nagamasa: Of course.
Hisamasa: I coming with you!
Nagamasa: Im sorry. But I must do this alone. If we travel large, they will see it as an act of war.
Hisamasa: I cant let you go by yourself.
Nagamasa: I'm sorry Otōsan.

He leaves them standing there. Nene, falls to her knees crying. Hisamasa attempts to comfort her, but to no avail...

Kyōto-Gosho​

Nagamasa had traveled through the night and arrived in Kyoto in the early morning. He walked right up to the front gates.

Guard: You, stop advancing. What is your purpose here!
Nagamasa: I am Nagamasa, Daimyo of the Azai Clan and Lord over Omi Province. I am here to request a presence with Go-Kamatsu.
Guard: How DARE you call Tennō Heika in such a manner! He has no time for disrespectful ashigaru as yourself. Now begone.
Nagamasa: I am not leaving until I see him.
Guard: So Be it.

The guards pulled out their Katana and surrounded him. It was three on one. Nagamasa just stood there, he did not bring out his Katana. The guard behind him went for the Killing blow. Nagamasa parried and hit the guard in the stomach. The crowd around the gate started to realize what was going on. They began to scream and a ruckus ensued. Nagamasa began to pick off the guards, one by one as they came forward. More guards arrived and attempted to stop him. He was taking guards out left and right. One jumped on him to subdue him. He countered by hitting a spinning heel kick in mid air. The rest of the guards began to look at him with worry, as they men fell one after another, in an attempt to take down this single man.

Nagamasa: If you have no realized yet, I am not here to fight, I am here to see Go-Kamatsu.
Guard: There is no way that we will let a mad man like you get close to Tennō Heika!
Nagamasa: Then So Be it, You wont take me to him, He will have to come outside to me....

Meanwhile, at the same exact time in the palace. the entire Yamato family was at the dining table, eating breakfast. All except for Kimiko.

Miyako: Kimiko still sulking in her room.
Katsuko: I am afraid so. I really fear for that child. the harsh reality of the world has come before her. She is torn on what she should do.
Go-Kamatsu: I miss Nagamasa...
Katsuko: I know. We all do. We miss their whole family.
Go-Kamatsu: I wonder what he is doing right now.
Katsuko: He is probably sitting with his family eating, just as we are.
Go-Kamatsu: You think he misses me?
Katsuko: I know he does...

Suddenly, a loud roar bellows into the room.

GOOOOOOOOOOO-KAAAAAAAAAAMAAAAAAAAAAAATSUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

The entire family looks around at each other. Suddenly, the door to the dining area slides open. A guard runs in.

Katsuko: What is going on!
Guard: I apologize, Kōgō. We need to get you all to a safe place. there is a mad man at he gate trying to fight his way in.
Katsuko: One man? Whats wrong with you! Cant you stop him?
Guard: We have already sent half the guards at him. He has defeated nearly 30 men!
Miyako: 30? By himself? He is mad!!
Guard: He demands to see Heika, but wont state why.
Katsuko: Oh, come on everyone. We need to get to the back of the palace.
Miyako: Where is Go-Kamatsu?

Everyone in the room looked around. Go-Kamatsu had jumped out of his chair and ran out of the room.

Katsuko: No, He must have run to the gate!!
Guard: Hurry, the rest of you guards to the gate. The rest of you, come with me to the safe room.
Katsuko: I'm going to the gate, I need to get my son!
Guard: No Kōgō, please go....
Katsuko: DO NOT EVER TELL ME WHAT TO DO! TAKE ME TO THE FRONT GATE NOW!!

The guard nodded, and they went their seperate ways. Go-Kamatsu had made it to the courtyard and was almost at the front gate.

Katsuko: Go-chan!! STOP!!

Go-Kamatsu made it to the front gate and stopped. Katsuko had caught up to him and grabbed him. She was about to run, but she looked to survey the area. Around her, lay tens of guards, all laying unconscious. She looked around to find the assailant. She saw a man standing in the middle of the pile of unconscious guards. She could not believe what she saw. Nagamasa, standing alone in the chaos, had defeated every man that stood before him. and with the last of his strength, he let out one last war cry.

Nagamasa: GOOOOOOOO-KAMATSUUUUUUUUUUUU!

More guards had arrived. Nagamasa stood his ground and got in the ready stance. Before the guards could make a move, there was another cry, this time it came from Go-Kamatsu.

Go-Kamatsu: NAAAGAAAMAAASAAAAAAA!!

Nagamasa did not hear him scream. The Guards went to go in and stop this fight once and for all. Nagamasa continued to fight them all back.

Katsuko: STOP THIS AT ONCE!!! I SAID STOP!!!

The Guards froze. Nagamasa fell to a knee. He began panting heavily. Go-Kamatsu broke free from his mother and ran over to Nagamasa. He fought through the guards until he finally reached Nagamasa. Go-Kamatsu began to cry.

Nagamasa: Whats wrong .... Go-Kamatsu?
Go-Kamatsu: You....*hic*.... Your Hurt....*hic*...
Nagamasa: This? This doesnt hurt at all.

All of a sudden, Nagamasa got slapped in the back of the head.

Nagamasa: Ok, now that one hurt...
Katsuko: I hope it did!! You Moron, Imbecile, What on earth do you think your doing!!
Nagamasa: I came.... to get my family.

Katsuko slapped him again. After she slapped him, she began to cry.

Nagamasa: Oh, I dont need another person to cry for me.
Katsuko: Im so glad you came.
Nagamasa: I would not miss this for the world.
Katsuko: You do realize you just became Ashikage enemy number one correct?
Nagamasa: What can I say, I'm in love...
Katsuko: Come on, lets get you inside...
Nagamasa: Oh, and you need to hire new guards. These ones are horrible.
Katsuko: So it seems.

They all let out a laugh. All except for the guards...
