I too really enjoy the focus on the forgotten aspects of war which you give us, Draco. Loving every post you make. Glad you made a good recovery, too.
I know you probably hadn't planned for it, but is there any chance of a summary of the first year(?) or so of the Imperial Parliament and the Federation? I'm intrigued by the intricacies like that, and I'm still wondering how the Parliament was balanced to prevent population imbalance from throwing the vote weighting, and how this has affected the layout and zones of control of the political parties.
Of course, if you can't do it for whatever reason that's still cool. I love every update anyway

Very interesting update Draco. Good to see the RN has even mastered these dangerous operations. I don’t think there is anyone one the high seas who can even try to take on the RN. But I don’t like the last sentence. I really hope the Italians haven’t started causing trouble…
Finally up to date, from the atrocities in Northern Italy to following Operation Barclay from planning through to execution it's been a fabulous few updates. Perhaps I should disappear for a month more often?
As Op Barclay moves further inland I do wonder how things will go, with the RAF busy over the Northern theatres and the advance heading out of range of RN support that ominous final sentence has me concerned. I do hope the Italian resistance isn't stiffening, for Italy's sake if nothing else. Every division pulled from the North to resist the Imperial advance increase the chances of the French breaking through and unleashing more horrors on Northern Italy.

Yeah. Bear in mind though that at the same time Imperial Regiments are advancing northwards, bringing Britishness to the Italians.

Lord E - Right now there are only two navies in the world that could be considered on par with the RN. The USN and the IJN. That being said, however, neither of those navies have near the combat experience of the RN and they know it... even if the politicians of both nations overlook that point.
El Pip - Nay, nay, my lad! Never disappear! As for the battle for the Boot... things are (TEASER ALERT) not going to be all that easy for the Empire.

Italy, so I wouldn't want to force you into changing tack right away, but when the Italy campaign updates are over, it'd be awesome if you could just do even a single detail update on the political side. A kind of "and this is how things are going in the background, just to keep you informed, but we (probably) don't need to focus on them again for a few months/years" update. As I said, I'm just fascinated by how the Empire is running. Didn't mean to hijack the AAR, of course

Few discussions have been as lively, except perhaps the removal of Montgomery from his command. Oh wait, that was here as well....

I'll also say 'finish the Italian campaign first', but once that's done, i definitely want to see some more political stuff.

ditto what everyone else has been saying, for myself i'm particularly interested to learn how the Dominions and Colonies are fitting into the new empire wide government. Are the political reforms going to lead to direct over the dominions or will you keep them seperate? Is that decision dependent on the size of the victory in the war - more political capital, bigger reform?
