Hello Commanders,

check out the awesome Community websideCountDown made by Stigy, Wiggin and some other cool community members.
Its an platform we can use to organize tournaments and teams for historical RTS and FPS games and haveing fun together as a community. I will use it, beginning in August, to launch my monthly tournaments there. But you dont have to join tournaments, you also can just create your team and battle your self with other teams in games Like WG RD, the Total war Series, Verdun, Rising Storm 2 and esp. SD Normandy 44.
It is really easy to use and we can push up our niche community to stand stronger together and promote the games to the outside together. Lets bring some spirit into it! Lets do something to hold SD alive!

I am so afraid of turnaments. You get only complains and not get paid. I am asking myself for years, whether I should go for it.
What bug s me the most is the question: Why should I go to a turnament, If I have had no clue of turnaments before?
Publicity? Showing other people my embarressing tactics? If I see others playing on youtube, I always find that embarressing, except for turnaments, when the people are off the beginner mistake stage.
I have the motivation to really carry other people a solid step further, to make the watch paid for itself.
But I always think I am not good enough to show others my tricks, and I always think, others will copy and spoil my tricks faster than I can improve them, once I showed them. And then its just a good feeling to have the own strategies undetected by others.

So showing a valuable strategy is the result of a years long investigation. And I shall show that to others for free??

The gladiators in rome ealier got paid for their artistic efforts, which were quite a work for a life.

Now, the gladiators work for free voluntarily. I find that quite an exploitation of that people. Not the people. They do a valuable work and we all participate, sometimes we are dependend on them; THEIR work is not to raise to quesion, not even to challenge in the slightest way.

But what do the people have from that? Those who make the videos? There was once a planet called earth, where it was quite usual, to be paid for the work. Even if its a fun thing. And I dont talk about turnaments. I talk about the daily results, even the worst shall be paid for their value of some.

But turnaments, even of good friendships, only work, without exception downwards, only, if you dont only get payed with a higher amount, but you do a lot beyond the level of money, and you can change their hearts!
Now we dont get turnaments of that kind. What we have today, will still be enough for the people, who dont know how to ask the value of their own from others. I also would do it just out of fun in some cases, not least for Steel Division.
But humans grow better besides a floating river, and are then even the more worksome helpers.

So if I would want something from a planet called earth, I would just give them a river, where they can float.
The reward for the turnament can even be a unique screenshot! Give them ANYTHING to fight for. Even squaremeters of the normandy have been quite a good thing to fight about... just give them any thought-out kind of a decoy, even only an imaginary anything would be enough. You can fight for the spirit! . . .

Sry but havening a bit of money into the play makes it just more compeling to everyone. And I dont think anyone feels like an esports pro in those tournaments. But getting rewarded is always nice. And if it is just a symbolic amount. Also It makes good matches and it showes balance and problems. So just fighting for spirit is what you wanna do in rankeds or against friends. But its not something holding people in a tournament. Tournaments need something to fight about.

Help for future tournaments is always welcome. (btw I also always get the payouts out ) also casting and stuff (live for replays we have Rangroo and some others) would be nice. But lets build up a community oufside the shit spammers in Countdown and talk about it in there.

The people can find out better that they want to participate, if turnaments are missing, and they feel the demand for it. Right now, you can only help a handful of courageous people through the tube/pipe (the turnament pipe of the turnament process). That is helpful. But if you feel that the work is too hard for you, or too dispensable ( too much energy for nothing in other words), that does not justify the efforts for you, its not a life or death duty to run turnaments now.

The game will populate. If more people have time and are more 'in' into the game, the turnament runs fluid!
Give the game more time I would say. If you want to do it now:

We are thankful of your courage and hope that you get the best success that exists on that way.

I think I will not participate, because the game is still too much for me. I want to think and find things out first, and I dont want anymore the hurry I had with Red Dragon, I and many people want some time, just free time without a schedule on their mind, to release themselves from the last years that were very effortful.

Sry man but we dont hold something against the "ded game" idiots and also something against the flaws of the game like bad matchmaking (in tournamnts this is okay) this game will be unpopulated in September. And you can not populate a game with out lobbies again. SRy but thats impossible man. So its now or never to kick those WG Elitists in the ass and hold this game alive against all ods. You are living in a world where nobody cares about steam reviews and realizes trolls when he sees them instantly. sadly thats a fantasy.

I think challonge is better.

Its not just aboud the Toruanments. Its about the community but I will see how it plays out or if challonge is really superior. Still I will stay in the CountDown community. Because its the only one thinking constructive about SD and its future, we could need stuff like talking about your mod ideas and stuff too.
