GMT can be confusing in the summer because of the daylight saving nonsense. GMT never changes - currently the UK is on British Summer Time, which is one hour ahead of GMT. I usually say "UK time" when I mean the local time here.

I recommend http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ which displays the current time in a useful variety of cities.
