Food Balance very Negative upon Game Load (Xbox)

I am using XBOX

As the title suggests my issue is that upon game load the food balance is over -600 , which of course the colony cannot recover from and everyone starves and dies. On save this was over 1000, this does affect both save files where I would save regularly alternate files per save.

I know the simple answer is to restart the game, but thought it warranted mentioning as it just does not seem right.

This is something we are looking into - and we understand the trouble it causes. Please bear with us while we work on discovering what actually causes this issue - once we have a fix, we will push it out as soon as possible!

Also on PC from Epic Games Store, tried restarting or loading previous saves but always ends up in the negatives, its gamebreaking unless I do it in one session :D.

you can offput it , if you for example tell all the farms to "collect" and Trade with other outpost for food . or bring food with specialist , yes i know not the correct way to do thing but still :(

Yeah I've done so but when it goes to - 1900 I'm just switching game or starting anew... Thanks for the reply anyway!
 
Sorry i still say WHY release patch at Friday... why not monday ? when they can fix it... hopefully it will be fix soon :( im really liking this game.

Couldn't say. From hotfixes to full patches, all take time to find, fix, and execute. It gets worse on consoles due to a "verification procedure" . Just be patient, hotfix will come soon. Hopefully.
 
I may have a workaround for you. I destroy and rebuild my storage buildings that contain food. Including Command Center. It does not get rid of the negative food, so the display is still wrong and you can't trade it, but at least the villages will then eat the food that you do actually have.

Uhhhh. Welcome to the forums.

I knew the bug was bad, but I'm trying to parse how you got that number, chum. If you know the meme involving a fax machine sound effect used to indicate someone who is (what is the term?) confused(?), that's what going through my head looking at the image you provided.
 
Coming in to add another echo of this issue still being present (on PC at least) after latest patch. See screenshot attached in reference to notes. Did a fresh game re-start, did validate game files thru Steam prior to that so as to ensure files had been patched. Played game to day 30+ to where there was just over 400 food items showing in interface. Saved game, exited and restarted. Loaded saved game file and food amount had dropped down to 60!
While I appreciate the fact it hadn't (in this case) dropped down to some ridiculous negative value, having it drop by such a significant amount is quite frustrating! Worked my NPC's pretty hard to get that much food into storage prior to the start of the next winter only to have it all lost. Bug report filed as well.

Heya - indeed we are still working on this! Once fixed, a new patch will be pushed out and the changelog updated etc, so you will know from that. Apologies for the inconvenience caused by this, we do know how much this affects you players and so are working as hard as possible to get a fix out as soon as possible!

@Joanna_ifs. Sorry for the this repetativnes with other posts. This post is only a continuation of the same problem. but i according to my trade menu there are also sevral other goods that are negative.
They are not visiabel other places. And some i have never had in my colony.

I'm experiencing the same problems... after building my colony for over 4 hours, and bam! Another common, lets kill the colonist with non-fixable items. Man this was the same issues 2 years ago, when I first downloaded the program, I thought this level of problem was added to the universal code updates.
