I realized that the game really kind of makes the medieval world larder than it actually was and ruins the immersion by always having an open map and diplomacy access to everywhere in the world.
Yes, there is diplo range, but I can still reach India as a swedish king if I wanted to raid for example or just walk my troops over there.
But going back to the point, I think that the game would really benefit from at least having an option of having a fog of war. Also any kind of interaction with people out of diplo range should be impossible when the fog is on. Basically think eu4. So that if I play a tiny Sami tribe my world only consists of couple neighboring tribes and nothing else. And if I played Norse, I wouldn't know of Africa and inidia not unless I specifically went there and discovered the new land and people.
With limiting one's options of interaction with other countries you could really make the game way more hard and interesting by for example making it so that finding a spouse for your kid is a challenging task that requires a lot of research and finding the right people, unless you're the emperor or whatever of course.
The world of ck2 will really change then since the players will have to start from the humbler beginnings
I hope I am making sense, it's 2:48 here and I'm tired but yeah

CK2 has Fog of War, which prevents you from seeing where all the troops are unless you have units or land or councillors nearby.. The EU4 feature you mean is Terra Incognita, that shows areas you haven't discovered as just blank map. But in EU4, you need the Exploration ideas to start discovering anything. I'm not sure what would replace that if you brought it to CK2.

Maybe sending your ships or people into these lands but the troops can't travel father than x or whatever
