Hello fellow Generals, my idea that I think should be considered by the dev's is this.
A way to automatically signed newly finished ships to a fleet already in service but lacking the necessary ships.
Now I am aware that I can automatically assign ships to a fleet but I'm proposing a system by which once x number of ships of that kind are in that fleet, no more will be added.
Why would this be useful? Well say you're playing with a large Naval focus (USA, UK, ect) and you need to maintain a naval presence over a large area. To do this you assign the minimum number of ships you feel is required to do the job to the fleet and leave it to do it's duty. Now, casualties are going to happen so the only present way of maintaining this minimum number of ships is to assign a production line to said fleet. Problem is that it won't stop adding to that fleet, thus it's efficiency at it's duty diminishes. Those extra ships can be left in a port or assigned to a fleet with no maximum capacity set. Which bring me to my second point.
A way to set the maximum port capacity of a fleet.
Not so different from the first proposal but this one is more geared to larger 'Capital' fleets. Since lvl10 Naval bases can support up to 100 port capacity the ability to set the maximum size of a fleet would in effect do the same as my first proposal, with the extra ships being sent to the nearest port with spare capacity.
Naval warfare in HOI4 is more than I had hoped for before release. These changes would make establishing a global empire (cause that one empire is the achievement I live for) a far more enjoyable task.
I would really like some thoughts as to these ideas, regardless if they are supportive or argumentative.
Kindest regards,
Luke
