Greetings! I have attempted to search the forums and Reddit for information on this and I did find a few useful things. However, I am hoping that someone with a bit more knowledge of Stellaris fleet composition can offer some specifics.

Basically, I am currently in mid-game (or so) and my ships are using kinetic weapons. However, I just don't feel like they are as effective as I'd like. Sometimes I feel like my ships aren't even firing even though I have long range kinetic weapons on them. In any case, I was hoping someone might be willing to share:
  1. What loadout/template you use for each ship class (corvette, destroyer, cruiser, battleship)
  2. What the fleet composition you use is (ex. 10 battleships, 20 cruisers, 25 destroyers, etc.)
From awhile back, I recall a thread (I failed to find it) that went in depth into fleet doctrine and had a great idea in which multiple battleship classes acted in a support role (healing shields, armor, etc.) however I think that type of thing has been removed from the game entirely.

I appreciate any information offered! Thanks!

2. All you really need is cruisers, though if you want anti corvette use 2 medium autocannons and 2 small gauss cannons on a destroyer.

Cruisers only? Why is there no need to use battleships? Not challenging you, genuinely curious.

Cruisers are just the most cost efficient ship type in terms of HP they get. For the price of a battleship, you get roughly two cruisers, which will then beat up the battleships. With their M slots and plasma cannons, they also tear through destroyers and corvettes. So you really dont NEED battleships, they're just cool, but they seem to do better against FEs. For battleship build, you'll want tachyon lance, 2 kinetic artillery and 2 plasma cannons. Check out the "finding the absolute best battleship" thread for utility slot setup, or just use enough armour slots for 90% armour and the rest with shield, and use crystal hull.
