How does the restrictions work? I had one flashpoint that said Light as restriction, which i took as only light mechs were allowed. Had to buy some parts from black market, as I had none (I follow lyran tradition, my scout lance is two assault and two heavies).
Once I had the mech I accepted the flashpoint and on the first mission put my light mechs on the loadout, just for a message of Darius telling that i lacked firepower and to use heavier mechs. ¿? Fielded my assault lance without any restriction.

So, how does it work? Has anyone found any similar situation?

I believe "Light" in flashpoint restrictions means "less than 50 tons".

Edit: It's less than 55 tons, from SimGameConstants.json:
Code:
        "LessThanThisWeightIsLightUnit" : 55,
        "GreaterThanThisWeightIsHeavyUnit" : 60,
        "LessThanThisTotalWeightIsLightLance" : 220,
        "GreaterThanThisTotalWeightIsHeavyLance" : 240,

So, why was I able to field my assault lance? (Highlander, 2 Atlases, King Crab)
I am a little puzzled
Possibly because not all missions in the flashpoint are restricted? I'm guessing here, since I haven't played any restricted flashpoints yet. I do know that the flashpoints that say consecutive missions mean that at some point there are two consective missions, but it doesn't have to be all missions consecutively.

The Flashpoint said clearly Light in restrictions. And in no point during the flashpoint was I restricted to light weight mechs.

It'll consist of at least one mission somewhere in the branch where you'll be restricted. The warning is so you don't *start it* and then find out the hard way.

When a Flashpoint says "Light" in the restrictions, that just means one mission in the Flashpoint may need faster mechs than what you had available. Also, it may depend on the Flashpoint Decision you pick as to whether or not the "Light" part of the Flashpoint even comes up.

Example:
There's an FP decision whether you have to pick between blowing up a sensor array or fighting a battle. I think the sensor array part is weight restricted while the battle is not. If you pick the battle, then the FP seems to not make sense because you were never actually weight restricted.

I see. I was thinking if maybe it was backwards, like if it says light, it means you can not field light mechs, but that would be counterintuitive.

Noted then, I have now mechs of all the weight categories, so will hve no problem. Was just curious as to how exactly the system worked

Thanks everyone!

Yep. I actually did run into a Flashpoint that was strictly tonnage limited. I wasn't allowed to drop more than 230 tons of mechs. I ended up dropping a Crab, 2 Hatchies (not Hunchies), and a Highlander.
