Hittite

"Thus, such old symbols - used and abused - may lose their original value; this happened to the old Carpatho-Danubian Hittite emblem of the two-headed eagle. First taken by Byzantium, then by the Huns on founding the Austro-Hungarian Empire, etc. etc., only to be nowadays taken over by the new Russia."

For Egypt I guess something like this would be the best option

Re-Harakhte, a representation of the Sun god, Re (red disk), and Horus (the falcon).

If you wanted to move away from religious icons in Egypt you could always use the crook and flail

The crook and flail were used to denote 'ruler' and can often be seen in contemporary reliefs held across the pharoah's chest. I was thinking this would make a good arms...

I mean like keep the gold frame, but lose the speculars and try the emboss feature on photoshop... could prove interesting...

Hmm, haven't thought of that, sounds like a good idea. I'll give it a try. :)
