Flags and Shields gone?!

I played as Sweden and became Scandinavia. To my surprise the Scandinavian flag and shield are not showing - the shield at the top left corner is blank and my units have no flag on them. Wierd, as the flags seems to be in the gfx folder.

How can I repair this?

You'll have to edit your save game. If you are using the VIP, then open it with notepad and search for flagname = "_1844". Simply delete this line and it should work.
