This is not a request, rather a question about how to get the flags in to the game.

You state that i only have to re-name the flag, correct? Well, the problem is that i can't. Its protected in some odd way...

And yes, the Flag (Imperial german war flag) was downloaded from your site.

Yes, this is because the flag is marked "read-only". To resolve this, right-click the image file, click "Properties" and unchecked the (checked) Read-Only box. Then press OK.

I have a request, courtesy of the United Modifications Project.

I need a flag that is in the style of the Byzantine shield from EU II. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about It's really a pretty simple design. If you could make it, I would be forever in your debt. You know, it kind of looks like this?

If you would be so kind, I also need a Mongolia flag.

If you could create these, The United Modifications Project would give you full credit.

EDIT: Oh, btw if I do any requests, I reserve the right to keep a copy of the flag I made to make available for other ppl to use.

HOW TO INSTALL FLAGS TO VICKY:
(If you want to replace an existing flag)
You must rename the one with the four flags of different shades (let's call it the shield), to the three letter designation of the country you want to replace.

REMEMBER TO MAKE BACKUPS OF THE GRAPHICS YOU ARE GOING TO REPLACE FIRST!

Then put the shield graphic in the gfx/map/shields/ directory.

For the flags, you have a choice. One is the 8-bit standard that paradox uses. Although it looks uglier, it should shade when the flag goes under the fog of war. The 24-bit one is if you prefer the quality of the image over its ability to go under the fog of war. Whichever one you choose, rename it to the three letter tag of the country you want to replace, and put it in the gfx/map/flags/ directory.

(If you want to make an event to get your country to change flags mid-game)

make an event with the following command:

command = { type = flagname which = "[COLOR=SandyBrown]1908[/COLOR]" }

w/o the country tag. Thus, if the country whose flag that you want to change has the tag AST, then this command will make it refer to the flag (which should be in the gfx/map/shields and gfx/map/flags directories)

So you can only set flags to bmp names that start w/ the tag of the country the event's supposed to be for.

- Send/show me a graphic of your flag, as big as possible
- Tell me what the name of the flag is

to write the command, you'll have to make your own events. Check the events/db folder for an example of various events.

Unfortunately, this isn't an event scripting thread... I'll suggest you go to Havard's Victoria Mod Site for how to write events.

In the meantime I'll write up a short how-to-make-your-own-flag-changing event.

Alright... Are you doing a red coloured flag? I mean does the flag look even remotely similar to the one that appears?

Which image did you have selected right before you started the "Flag-Maker" action? Did you run that action or did you try to copy-paste them by hand?

Btw, your "Layer 1" should be below the "Examples" Layer Set but above the "Background" Layer.

Yes, the flag is red... It's the Soviet flag... So it looks like them...

First i had my "Soviet Shield", then choose "Shield-To-Flag" or what it's called,
then flag-maker... I used the actions... No copy-paste by hand...

I'm not home at this moment, but i will try it when i come home... can that be the problem...?
