FIXED: ctd 10sept44 as italy

ctd 10sept44 as italy

i have a recurring ctd as italy on sept 10 1944.

p4, 256mb ram, soundblaster live, nvidia geforce4 mx 64mb,
its a dell.

this is the first recurring ctd i've ever had in 8 months playing hoi

any ideas?

svegame date is 1500 10 sept 1945 (not 44)

ctd occurs 1000 11 sept 1945

italy is nuetral, at war with japan. russia is not at war.
germany has been defeated. allies (incl usa) at war with japan.

i was with allies in defeating germany, then left alliance.

I have the feeling it's caused by the torped_plane bug.... Go to the FIX IT YOURSELF thread on top of this forum and learn how to fix it. Will be gone in next patch

No of course it wouldn't change anything yet... You'd have to start a new game... But I'll check your savegame.

don't take this the wrong way, i (and most other players) greatly appreciate the amount of support you have given us......but after starting in 1/36 the last thing i want to do is scrap this game. so please find something simple wrong so i can continue. ...i can always hope!

any idea what that means?

That I can reproduce that crash and that I uploaded it to Johan. He'll look at it when he has time for 1.06

He found the cause. You can't fix it yourself though, since it's in some event command. Fixed for next patch.

I "fixed" a similar CTD by deleting the AI event about Greece joining the allies.

Not sure if it's the same bug though.

Prolly not since there is no Greek event in the vanilla HOI files

It's an AI event I found it in this file : ..\db\events\increased_spheres.txt
that's not part of vanilla HOI ? * is confused *

more info about when the bug happened :
- I was playing Greece
- I was already part of the allies I think
- crash (repeatable until I delete the event) happened shortly after the Yugs entered the war

Vulture must have forgotten the increased_spheres.txt added in 1.05c.
It may or may not be the same bug. Vulture, which event command is the bug you refer to here?

There seems to be a tiny bug with the independance command... I believe this was the crash Johan isolated. At least his save doesn't crash for me anymore.
