Allies join Axis, uninvited v1.06

Clean install. V 1.06 patch
Playing Germandy in Road to War
1939-US experienced a Area of Influance event and joins the Axis without an invite. Japan neutral and at war only with China

1941- Axis at war with Allies and Soviets. Soviets and Allies at peace with each other. Allies join Axis, again, without being invited or making peace first with Axis first. Also, once the Allies join the Axis, Germandy can no longer invites any neutral countries into the alliace, I suppect that option went to England when they joined the allegaince and are now considered the leader of the allegiance. Do not know if any events took place that might have triggered this. Allies were only at war with Axis at the time.

Also now experiencing CTD every 10-14 days

Anyone see this one before? Any ideas?

Could you open up the save file (in the hearts of iron/scenarios/save games folder) and copy/paste the lines that start with axis =, allies =, and such?

They're near the top.

Here are the entries from the event log. I edited it for non-relevent events to keep size down. I can email you the whole log if it helps. Again, I never invited the US or UK and the Allies to an allegaince, though I had influneced USA complety to my point on the influence triangle.

Another bug: USA is at war with UK throuh being a member of the AXIS but STILL passed the lead lease act

Did you puppet England by any chance? It looks like England's puppets followed her into the axis (as Puppets are hardcoded to do) when England joined, but because of a bug they never left the allies. A similar thing happens to Mongolia when Russia joins the axis because of the unholy alliance event.

There are two possible fixes - have the puppets leave the allies, or have the puppets break their puppetry with England.

As a workaround for you, you can manually edit out the improper countries from the alliances and wars section, near the top of the save file. Also make sure that no nation is in more than one alliance.

Germandy was at WAR with the allies and Sovets. UK was not at war with anyone but the Axis. I had not invaded UK yet. They just switched sides by going straight from at war with me to being my allies. The USA joind the Axis on its own as well though their war entry level was no where near 100 %.

My guess is the speare of influnce events triggered these problems. IE: Sovets attacked somone in UK speare of influnce so they went to war with Soviets and joined the Axis becasue we were at war with Soviets as well instead of remaining at war with both.

If so, that's a known bug I think: the USA Monroe Doctrine events don't check to see if the attacked country is already in an alliance. Since Allies declared war on Axis they are also considered to have declared war on the SA country (even if it joined the Axis later) which eventually triggered a USA DoW on them. That one should be fixed for the next patch.

No, al Sa countries were stil neutral, but Ihad completly influnced them to the Fashist point on the triangle. Maybe that was it?
