Give feudal lords the (difficult, expensive, conditional) ability to switch to a republic and vice versa.

Have the silk road extend into the Mediterranean and/or change based on prosperity of nearby counties. The silk road being unconnected from Europe and never changing over 700 years is stupid.

Rework the combat tactics system so it's not needlessly complex and doesn't give armies made from 1 unit a 300% increase in power. Removing all light infantry, archers and cavalry from your army should not magically make your heavy infantry four times as powerful.

Yeah, I never saw the point of the tactics system. If anything, a well-balanced army should be rewarded, not an army consisting of all one unit. I'm not sure why they don't just eliminate tacitcs entirely and just use the commanders skill as a straight bonus. Seems like it would be alot more intuitive and make more sense.
