No, I have played two games one with HUngary and one with Japan. When I played Hungary I did go tech heavy on the ministers and saw this bug. When playing Japan I went all out on IC ministers and still have this bug.

ISTR posting in some other thread about this and we decided it was just a display error. I didn't see it when I found the other two threads but I'll look again.

EDIT: I think this is the thread I was thinking of but I don't think it's this problem exactly but is related. I think this is roundoff because the in-progress tech costs are displayed and stored in the savegame as integers but are floating point internally when the game is running. So if you have a tech whose original cost is 10 IC with tech that reduces by 15% it will cost 8.5 IC and be displayed and stored in a savegame with a cost of 8 IC. When it completes after reloading the save and you start a new tech with the same original cost and discount it will cost 8.5 IC again so your research total increases by 0.5 IC. Watch the research total since it displays as a floating point number. The likely fix would be to store the value in the savegame as a float instead of integer. Making the display a float would be nice too (like the total) but not as critical.

i think YES. It does seem like some kind of truncating error, but i cannot confirm which way [we cannot see enough digits on the R&D costs etc] it is. Problem is that it can be up to 1 IC for each R&D added to the queue.

Now which way is it off [high or low]? Also, are other things effected the same way like the efficiency improvements? Infrastructure improvement costs? [see my open thread on that here as well]. I'm suspicious about a number of items. I suspect that once we nail one of these down, if a check is done, we will clean up a whole host of these little nigglers.

Can you give a specific example? Specific tech, what it's cost is displayed as, what the total tech research cost is before and after you start researching it, any research-affecting ministers or techs? Does it happen when you research a tech from start to finish without reloading?

I double checked last night it was happening with Germany as well. I never noticed it cause I had so much industry with Germany and I usually spend 1936 to 1939 at the maximum speed.
