Below is a bug I posted a few days ago in the bugs section and the fix I found for it. Thought it might be useful as it was only a problem which occurred upgrading from 2.2.3 beta to 2.2.4 beta. Now the game runs great with not a single desync issue.
Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Multiplayer between 2 human players and 30 AI on large map. Game runs very very slow on normal speed (unplayable). It feels like very slow speed when its actually on normal speed. Bumping speed up to fast or fastest makes it playable (barely) but we are only 32 years into the game and its getting slower.
Steps to reproduce the issue.
Load up save with 2 human players. One play Roman Empire, other Xeno Scum Purifiers. Play on normal speed and see how slow it runs. We have both loaded it up in single player and on normal speed it runs perfectly. Seems to be an issue linked only to multiplayer games which is reducing game speed massively. This is has only occurred since 2.2.4, in 2.2.3 this lag did not exist with multiplayer games we played so a change made has caused this issue.
Found a fix.
So our multiplayer game was running very slow, even on fast speed it was no faster then very slow on a normal game.
I loaded it up single player and no issues, game ran really fast on same settings. So it was an issue with multiplayer only games.
I decided to do a verify game files check and something downloaded even though it showed 0 bytes, something was fixed as the line and download speed indicated it had downloaded a file. Now our multiplayer games run as fast as single player games and also no desync issues.
It strange as we had no issues with 2.2.3, but moving to 2.2.4 broke something in my game in relation to multiplayer but not single player. The same multiple save file ran perfectly when played in single player, but load it with a friend and play multiplayer, nearly unplayable. Its now fixed. Might be useful info to put out there is anyone else is having similar issues.
