I love playing 4X and Grand Strategy games multiplayer, and there's an MP organized group that is starting on launch day on the forums. Me and 11 other players along with 10 AI in a medium sized Galaxy, it's going to be fun!
If anyone can't find friends to play with there are plenty of multiplayer campaigns on the Stellaris MP steam group and on the forums looking for players.

Awesome - Thanks for the heads up. If all my pals crash and burn on me, I'll stick my head in the thread for sure.
I prefer to play strategy games single player so 99% sure that's how it will be. Have two friends that are kind of interested so maybe later.
I tend to prefer the other paradox games as single player, so I'll probably start with that. I've already got a multiplayer session planned with family and friends too though for shorter sessions. The best of both worlds!

Alone my first game, because I want to explore robotics and see what happens, so in the end it's too much of a risk for me and my friends first mega multiplayer game (a huge map with lots of empires etc. too much investment to lose all our time cause of my experiments they say)

They told me I can't do it in our game, or rather that if they saw me trying they'd leave..it made me quite sad.
The Balor just wanted loyal servant bots...

Find a remote world that no one can see and build your robots there. I don't think it's fair of them to say that you can't do one thing when a whole host of other techs can cause end game crises not only robots.

Sniff. I feel for this guy. My friends turned the Diplomatic victory conditions off on Civ 5 after that is how I started winning games. It sucks when people won't allow you to enjoy every aspect of a game.

My wife, while she thinks @Wiz and cKnoor are hilarious, has zero interest in video games that are not Talisman or Minecraft. And that is fine. She'd probably murder me the first time she saw a science officer named after her.
I'll play a more or less peaceful singleplayer campaign until the weekend, and then do multiplayer with a friend. We agreed that we both play xenophobic militarist races slaughtering our way through the galaxy together, and then either get ripped by the late game crisis or turn against each other when there is no one else left.
Same here, but alas, I am like a Blorg and have few friends - even fewer who are cool and play games like this, most just play Battlefront on their consoles

Haha I've thought about it but I don't have the time to play MP or else I would be doing it a lot already!I understand that. I play Paradox games MP for a different feel than the single Player. CK2 is a blast multiplayer, particularly if you all are in the same kingdom. It can get hilarious fast.

With no friends remotely interested in this kind of games and bad internet connection, SP is the only way to play for me

I got one friend whom I enjoy co-oping with for EU4, probs play with him. I think and hope I got another friend interested in this game who didn't like previous Paradox games due to complexity. Shame though, one other friend who plays paradox games has now become more interested in paying 40$ for virtual hats in an unnamed game that simulates wearing hats in a fortified enclosure with a group of compatriots the second edition than paying 40$ for a game that involves playing an alien civilization...
