First time out - Alone or with Friends?

How many people are going to dive right in to a single player game? or have you already made plans with friends to Blorg-it-up and go at Stellaris in a MP game at launch?

I'm unsure of what to do. On one hand I want to experience with my pals who are hyped about it as well. But on the other hand, I don't want to feel rushed on my first play through while I dim-wit like rely on Virr for all sorts of help.

Single player for me. But hey, the day is long. Most likely will try some multiplayer later that same day.

Only one person will probably be joining me; a coworker. Brother might buy it after release. But I will at least get a single player game going to at least learn the basic game mechanics. Then get a multiplayer as soon as I can.

I don't have enough people to play a release day multiplayer game. There are two of my friends interested in playing the game. But I doubt they're going to buy the game at release date. So it's just going to be me mucking around in a single player game.

Which is just as well, gives me time to get to grips with the game.

I like playing at a leisurely pace - doubly so when I'm exploring a new game.

I understand that. I play Paradox games MP for a different feel than the single Player. CK2 is a blast multiplayer, particularly if you all are in the same kingdom. It can get hilarious fast.

I don't know anybody who's gonna play, so for now it's just me and will probably be that way on release.

You... you could see if you could sign up for some of the games people are advertising on the forums. Great way to make new Space Friends!

I sympathize with this. I'm really really bad at these games. I have a blast playing them however. I think a week after launch I'll see if anyone on the forums is up for a MP game. Seems there are some folk here who want to at least give a try, but don't have any folk to join in with. I don't sleep much so... I can play many hours in the day.

If they will not accept 01_EMBASSY_PROPOSE, then there must be 01_WAR_PROPOSE.

Alone, definitely. I'm generally more of a single player person. Although, I might play multiplayer with others here eventually.

The way I do MP games, more so with Stellaris I see, is going to be just setting a time and date. Give everyone 10 minutes before start. Start the game, and if you are not there, let the AI sort you out.

Probably gonna play with my friend for 3 or 4 hours on MP as he have work then for the entire night I will switch to SP.
