Just a stone's throw away from Stockholm is the Swedish tank museum Arsenalen.

But I just noticed Arsenalen is closed mon/tue. Pricks.

It's further than you may think . If you rent a car it's probably an hours drive (if you factor in the chaos that is Stockholm traffic) and if you go by train, it's even more as you need to get the bus from the station in Strängnäs. Still though, if you have the time it's worth a visit, it's one of the better museums in Sweden.
