Very nice. New wallpaper here I come. The windmills look a bit too big though.

Windmills right next to an airport seems dangerous to me. Shouldn't there be a zone around an airport where there'd be a limit on the height of buildings? Trees have been mentioned but they're pretty low compared to those windmills.

My last question got ignored?

I don't know where you all are from, but here in Berlin, firefighter and police stations are often big houses. In Germany the firedepartments are a little bit different to other countrys, almost everywhere are only volunteer Fire Departments. Only big Citys, like Berlin, own a professional fire department. And these professionals, are often very very huge and big.

Typical Firedepartment in Berlin:

Friedrichshain in the inner city
1200_01.JPG
Tegel
2400_01.jpg
Poelchaustraße
6100_2012_01.jpg
Spandau
3200_01.jpg
Police and firedepartment in Mitte
1700.jpg

So I disagree with the "small" fire departments.

To the windmills:
I don't think that they are to big.

Another question. On the screenshots, cars and trucks never run in the middle of the lane, they always run on one side, why is that? I saw at another screenshot that's because there were parking cars at the wayside, but there is no line or visual hint that this is a parking spot?

You mean this question? I suppose the cars and trucks simply run in those lanes since they're heading that way :) I'll try to get CO in here and see if they can clarify.

This is probably because your FDs in the city have room to build and expand new stations. Cities in USA have had the same stations sitting in the same spot mostly being the original buildings back when everything was small and space was tight, which of course space is still tight. Plus it seems like your FDs act similar to how Volunteer Departments act, where they have at least 1 of every fire apparatus. In USA, most cities paid departments have crews that take the same apparatus every time which means they dont need big stations. 75% of FDs in USA are still Volunteer, the remainder is paid. Hopefully some modders take some time and make the awesome American Firetrucks too. You just cant beat Seagrave, Pierce, American LaFrance(Now Defunct), American Rosenbauer, KME, and HME.

The only thing I dislike is how Firehouses/stations are represented. Although im American and from what I gathered is that this is a European setting

It's funny, because for an European some of the pics looks very American. And I think the developers said they were aiming for an modern American or Asian (Dubai) setting for the game at release. :)

There should be fire stations of all types. And if it isn't at release it will probably be created afterwards.

I felt similar about the fire stations, police stations, schools and hospitals in Sim City 4. They were too suburban to fit in a dense city center, but they were also way too big to fit into an suburban setting.

Bip, bop, screenshop. Shot. Darn, rhymes aren't my thang.

YRtnxH5.jpg

I like that we seem to get at least one screenshot a day now. :)

It's a good screenshot too! It's a decent amount of density there. :)

The buildings in the top of the picture are a good example of buildings that can be made in many, many different variations. The ground floor could be created in an endless amount of versions. This one seem to have just a garage. But that building would look great with a ground floor consisting of stores too. And it could be made in several different store textures. And the billboards could be changable. Maybe a system where we will have a pool of billboards in different sized and that the game will draw one of them on random for each building. Modders could make the pool of billboards huge in a very short amount of time too. Small things like that adds very much to the diversity of the city.

I never played Cities XL, but if I understood it correctly they had a system where billboards in the game were actually billboards that changed once in a while.

That empty space between the building on the top, is it empty because it's not zoned or because it's too small for a building?

Nice screeny, thanks. About high buildings and other structures near an airport: No restrictions, please. If there happens to be something "inappropriate" near your airport you can still get rid of it manually. Will there be a noise/dirt pollution beneath the airways?
Another thing I´ve noticed: Is that firetruck stopping at a red traffic light? If so, could it be made that they ignore traffic lights WHEN they operate?

PS: "Gotta go fast"? Does that come from that person? Is that ingame or an insider joke?

This new screenshot is probably my favourite one yet! I like how the textures look; not too "cartoony". They are still quite realistic and detailed though (altough a bit more wear on the road surface would be appreciated). I like how you can see the bumps in the asphalt and concrete, for both roads and buildings. How close are these graphics to the final ones we'll see in the final product?

In the end, I see some nice models of people. In SimCity 2013 didn't like me those cardboard boxes. It were terrible the pixels. In this picture are beautiful. The City in Motion 1 and 2 were nice models of people. I am surprised that EA/Maxis couldn't take care of such an easy things, in fact, very important to me. You are wonderful, of course This game will be the best city builder in the world, how to me.

I work near an airport and when the building was being remodeled, cranes were brought in... Turns out, they had to get rid of the cranes because according to the law, you can't have anything x size that is y distance from an airport, so yea, windmills... shouldn't be near airports. Lol.

Windmills right next to an airport seems dangerous to me. Shouldn't there be a zone around an airport where there'd be a limit on the height of buildings? Trees have been mentioned but they're pretty low compared to those windmills.

I may have missed something, but mind telling why that man at the crossroads is saying "gotta go fast"?

You guys never played Sonic? He's on a skateboard, or well, getting on one and his arms are slightly glitched so they're in "sonic run fast mode". Thus, gotta go fast.

Maybe it's just my bad humor.

^_^
