i have enjoyed Two Sicilies and unifying Italy.

Probably Brazil or Sweden. Having visions of using national focus to turn Sweden into the world's supreme lumber and furniture producer.

If I played as Sweden I would annex Denmark, Finland, the Russian Baltic territories, and the Prussian Baltic territories. I would be a dominant naval power and completely control all of the Baltic. I would probably ally with Austria to help against Russia and Prussia.
Perhaps some uncivilized country in Vicky 1 like Egypt or Ethiopia. I'd like to see if Paradox will make any change to give the uncivilized a REAL chance to civilize and become something (a minor, even a great power), not like in Vicky 1 where you as Egypt stood no chance but beaten up by the Turkish, or as Madagascar only waited to be conquered by the French, unless you use game bugs.
Spain is a nice, laid-back country to play in Vic 1, might be a good way to start off learning the ropes with in Vic 2. But there are so many interesting choices... France, Austria, Prussia, Russia, and China are all high on my list.

Thats pretty much exactly what I'll do as well, Ireland is always the first country I play a new Paradox game with, even if it didn't work out in EU 3, getting crushed by England every time
I said it elsewhere but probably Two Sicilies which I played recently in Vicky, for the comparison. Or maybe Toscany for some more challenge for the Italian unification (Venice could be an option if it was free and not under Austrian domination). For similar reasons, Bavaria (maybe Prussia if I want an easy #1).

New Zealand was never a Dutch Colony. And the only part of South Africa that was part of the Dutch colonial empire was Cape Town and the surrounding areas. Natal was a Boer State that quickly became a British Colony, with Transvaal and the Orange Free State having been fully independent Boer States (most of the population who wasn't even of Dutch decent).
But I get where you're coming from. I'd play a similar game as one of my top 5.... Maybe fourth or 5th game.
B.C. was always fun, if youre talking about switchers, but their hardly first games, cos it takes so much playing before you can play them.
