Why no map scrolling with the mouse????

This really kills the game for me and is making me quiet frustrated.

Please CO, Please patch the game to allow map scrolling with the mouse.

Press and hold the left Ctrl key and.... simply move your mouse.... and your map is scrolling.

Everything looks great, pretty and promising.... but the new controls are going to take a lot of getting used to. :\ Will keep mapping keys until i find something that suits my hands and brain

I like it very much so far. Feels like a proper sequel and there seems to be much nice details/micromanageing which is always nice. Made a short vid.

My first impression was - wow! They've exceeded my expectations. Good job, the city size being massive is great and completely love the flexibility of this new engine.

I've yet to find out how to build airports though since in CiM1 that was the tourist passenger gold mine.

I am at tutorial still, but I'm slightly disappointed by the fact that each line has to start/end in depot. Will see how this will play out.

Notice that when creating a line make the last stop the same as the first (non-depot) stop, and only then close the loop by selecting the depot. Now the depot it not used as a stop at all but only as a depot as in real life. Nothing to worry here, works great. :)

Hello everybody,

I will be posting here http://citiesinmotion2.wikispaces.com/Tips what I think it can be done to improve your gameplay experience.

Some things you guys are complaining was figure out in the alpha test. Just needs some tweaks and you will enjoy the game more.

Most important: Set A, W, D and S for movement of cameras. This way you can easily move the cameras.
This will improve your gameplay wildly.

I am missing airports and "regional" train stations, and the looks of the city are a bit... unrealistic. Hopefully stuff like this will be added with dlc cities.

Other than that I am really impressed with the game, makes simcity looks like the simville it is :)

I just finished the tutorial and I like the game very much. It runs very smooth on ultra (of course without the ugly bloom ;) ) and looks nice. I also didn't notice any big technical problems in those 90 minutes. Only the font should be a little bigger, as on a WQHD monitor it is rather hard to read. Besides that I like the UI.

But as a professional grouch and CO is actively listening to the community, I noticed some things while playing the tutorial:
Just some things I noticed, I really had fun in the first 90 minutes, some things like building metro tracks is probably going to be easier after some time and experience. But besides from the metro tracks I like how constructing things works, it's really smooth and looks nice. Oh, and very important: I love the camera controls! Camera controls from heaven, just like Tropico 4, the only acceptable way.
I also like the way metro stations are being constructed, even though they are not connected anymore (I liked the ultra long stairs in CiM ;) ). But just concrete and no stairs under the stations on the streets doesn't look too good...

But how the actual fuck do I get rid of the "things on my mouse", e.g. a bus stop or a tram track. The only solution I found was closing the build section, but I don't always want to do that. I expected right mouse button to do that, but that's not the case...

UI font is very difficult to read, UI buttons and graphics are just average or below average in look and feel - I have only worked through some of the tutorial so maybe 30 minutes of game-play only - but the UI is noticeable right away... the game itself looks great, maybe better than I expected - but the UI by contrast seems much less polished

This will improve your gameplay wildly. It was even suggested to be as default, but didnt make it to the final game.

AWSD for camera is the default at least in my version. Also holding left CTRL+moving mouse moves the camera, very useful.

A Gameplay problem i have, or it's something i don't understand. I have a bus line of 10km (5 up and 5 down), one trip takes around 12 hours. But rush hour planning is completely useless this way... if my extra rush hour bus starts it takes 12 hours to finish it's rush hour route...

To add my two-penniworth: been looking forward to this for ages. Beautiful graphics, as we know from CO. Tried doing extensive metro building for an hour...complex stuff, but hey this is a complex game. I agree about the UI - why a boring font and why so many pop-ups? CiM1 had this down well, maybe a patch will cover it.
Something else which bugged me instantly - stop names. CiM did this well too - local streets or sights were used. Can this return please? Speaking as a map builder (I would have produced a 2nd or 3rd map for publication but CiM2 came!, part of the fun is giving street names to make it feel real. So, please get away from the "Stop 1" etc. idea - it's confusing (I think).
Metro is beautiful and very clever, but any chance of having the stations actually linked to something in the street and not citizens just teleporting? ;-)
Otherwise, well done CO - would have happily waited another month for this, but am sure you will, as with CiM1, iron out glitches through a series of patches. You didn't let us down with CiM1 and surely won't this time!

Ah yes... at one stop one passenger is running in a circle around the stop and will not board the bus... and the bus-driver decided to not left him there under any circumstance... even if a ton of other busses are "simcitying" ;-)

Thats a bug, hm?
