Hi Guys,

I know I'm very on this since most people will still be buying the game but I wanted to add a bit of an early feedback thread to the forum so the developers can see how much we all like the new London DLC as we test it out.

The first thing I have to say is thank you to the team for the hard work you all put in on this. the streets and main roads are all named so that is going to make planning bus routes a lot easier and I've just been running a test game in the campaign mode and I just had a basic 5 stop metro line from Heathrow Airport going on past past Euston Square and I've noticed the metro seems to fill up faster on the London map and the new metro train looks great too and wil be a real asset to the map as you try and keep people moving.

The London bus looks good too although I've not been as far to see the new routemaster bus yet I know that's going to be good too. The nice think is the mainline railway terminals are on the map too so it will be good to have some good spots to start bus and metro services from too.

The new hospital looks good too and the fact you were able to use the real name for this is really good.

Did you have to ask for permission to use the name of the hospital and the airport? I'm just curious to be honest.

I will have some more feedback to add when I've had a good longer go on the map but I wanted to log in first and thank the team at Colosal Order/Paradox for all their hard work on this wonderfully detailed map.

With work like this I'm hoping there could be further maps for the original Cities in motion?

With a London map this good I could just imagine how well you guys would do with further UK city and town maps.

Since if you did this well with the likes of the London landmarks I can imagine how well you could do with the buildings on the Liverpool waterfront for example.

So thank you again guys and I'm sure everyone will join me in thanking you for all your hard work and dedication to creating this new map.

You deserve a big thank you for all your hard work guys. :)

The map looks very good. I love the new landmarks, it's very nice to see this amount of detailed landmarks on one map.
But I want to ask one thing: What is the difference between the Roadmaster Classic and the Pathfinder City? These two buses look the same, and they are both based on the Routemaster.

I want to share my impressions too.
Incredible map, there wasn't a city until now with so many landmarks. The map is huge, very detailed. Landmarks are represented very well. New buildings are a great addition to the game. I saw only 4 new vehicles for the 15 minutes of gameplay I had yesterday - 3 new routemaster buses and 1 metro.
One remark from my side - the map represents only the city center of London - the Tower Bridge is located on the edge of the map, while in fact is in the city center. I didn't noticed the map size, but I believe someone can make a map which includes also some suburbs and far neighborhoods.
And generally - this DLC totally deserves the 5 euro I paid for it!

london

I am alittle disapointed as there are some missed oppotunities on the london map.
the map only shows central london and is on the large map.
surly if the developer of this game had used the exlarge map more detail could have been put in the game and more of London could have been added.
there are some parts of london that are missing.
st pauls cathedral is an icon in london but not in this map.
trafalga square with neslon colum and the lions are missing, as is piccaddily circus and eros.
whitehall is a straight road no no bends.
westminster abbey is missing.
the building you have as westminston abbey is infact westminster palace houses of commons.
park lane is not correct where is marble arch and hyde park corner.
I do feel that no proper detail has gone in to this game and the game was rushed to be completed.
I think the developer of the game did not do there home work on london and did not google what central london looks like.
I had also notived that liverpool street stn is missing.
I do have some possitive comments.there are more buildings to play with on the editor.
I will start to build my own version of london and will use the extra large map and will have more detail and accuracy in my game.

"I will start to build my own version of london and will use the extra large map and will have more detail and accuracy in my game."
good luck, i'm building Budapest for ages and it's still not ready. You'll soon realise why the map is not 100% realistic...;)
"I do feel that no proper detail has gone in to this game and the game was rushed to be completed."
This is not the game, just an extra map with a few new vehicles. And I don't think that making it much more realistic would give any huge benefits for playability and fun.

@ steviestreatham

Dev have mention that they will do few London city icons but not all known London icons and there was a vote which icons we wanted to have in London map.
It's very hard work for devs to make such a great icons.

Thanks for the feedback! As all of our cities in Cities in Motion, they are not exact replicas of the real deal, but I have to say that the team really did a great job with London! It's definitely one of my personal favourites :)

The game infrequently freezes during play. More worryingly the game frequently freezes when trying to save (every 2nd or 3rd time). Despite my computer easily meeting the system requirements, I tried 'turning down' the graphics but the problem still persists. Can't seem to get beyond 20 lines....

I bought and downloaded it from Steam and it works when I run it from Steam. However, when I run the CIM exe directly, London isn't shown in the list of maps. The reason I run the exe directly is that my mods, including ModManager, aren't available when I run it from Steam. For the record, I de-activated all mods (except ModManager) without success.

Is there something I need to do to make London available when I run the exe directly?

Pleas check the first aid tech support page. If you can find the answer form there, please register your game and check the tech support section.

I hope you get the issue resolved!

It could have something to do with Steam. You can't run non-Steam purchased DLC so it'd make sense that running it directly could lock out the DLC.

That's why I run it directly. All other Steam-acquired DLC works just fine when I run CIM directly - Paris, US Cities, St Petersburg, Design Classics, Design Dreams, etc.

In view of co_martsu's post, I'll stop clogging up this thread and ask these questions in the Tech Support section.

A few numbers from the DLC:
29 buildings new buildings never seen before (not including landmarks). A few of them are older models with a new skin.
7 buildings that had a night version in New York map now have a day version.
31 buildings that we already saw in prevoius DLCs (without any changes).
1 new prop (phone booth)
1 new AI vehicle (black cab)
4 buses
1 metro train
8 landmarks

Wow, that's quite a lot of new content for just one map! You (or was it douglasrac) need to update that CiM content image. ;)

Unfortunately that can't be done. Somehow the file got corrupted. It seems to be a problem in the server, but its like this since ever. I do not recommend easy.ly to make your infographics.
