First German game (Cornflakes) - mixed results

First game I found mixed results - played on regular with custom sliders to max for England/France/Soviets/US - historic mode

* First of all, Netherlands is still not guaranteed by France or UK which is unrealistic and a historic. Allows '36 attack to get all of Netherlands and DEI puppet

* Poland was very ill-prepared (see image) they had holes in their lines and fell even quicker than 1.4.2

* France was also totally ill-prepared (see image) - just strolled into Paris - they had a lot of their forces on Italian border

* Had weird bug were after France/Paris fell most of territory went to Italy! They hadn't even captured any provinces

* On plus side, operation Sea Lion is much harder. The RN (and French) fleets attacked my transports repeatedly. Also, all the main Southern ports are now garrisoned by at least 4-5 units. Plus building marines is harder now with the special forces cap

Overall disappointing if you like playing as Germany but at least some progress on UK defense.

I played thru to 1940 as Germany also and focused tech and mfg. on Uboats since the patch notes said they would be much harder to spot and so on.

Well, they still die like flies. Get into fleet on fleet no matter what orders, and die almost 100% of the time. Never disengage. Nothing has changed.

Yes, but after conquering Netherlands, you got a huge cut in Mefo-bills, right? I am unsure if this is still the way to go.
Poland and France is for me like before.
I agree on Italy taking most of France. Something is wrong. I will wait next time to invite Italy into Faction until I have conquered France.

On my first game with Germany in Cornflakes, France didn't accept the Rheinland Occupation. So they declared war on me, but the communists think its a good time to split of. The tanks roll over the Maginot, take Paris, all fine. France capitulate, but the Communist France get some provinces.
Then it takes a day or two, before the peace conference toggle. But Germany, who do the job (the communist had no impact), are not inside the peace conference building. It's crazy. Only a message that conference is done, Communists take all, nothing to earn for me.
The civil war came in after the war declaration on Germany, so I think that my war is the major war or at the peace conference I simply get First Touch. But I'm not invited at all...

I forgot to extend the MEFO bills so they automatically got cancelled. I don't really get this MEFO bill mechanic as it seems like a lot of micro to have to keep extending them.

I took the Netherlands for the oil and rubber resource access. But UK/France should have guaranteed as was done in all previous Hoi titles.

I have to say that after all the MEFO-bill hype, I was quite dissappointed. I consider it an actual nerf for Germany, it eats up a shedload of PP and in return, you get what? 5 CIC or something? 12 MIC more right from the start were way better. Also, the german national focus tree is now too big to even remotely archieve what had happened before september 1939 in time. Don't get me wrong, I love the new tree, but now theres actually too much to do. If you want to stage Fall Weiß on a historical date, you have to ditch a couple of the industrial focuses, which is another nerf. Plus the new command structure means that there is no 10% discount on combat width with offensive doctrine anymore, which means that the awesome 13 X INF + 6 X ART template is gone forever (11 X INF + 6 X ART is considered an artillery division ).

Exact same thing happened to me as imperial Germany when the French decided to oppose the return of the Kaiser... Needless to say I ragequit that game. .
This is nothing new though, it's been that way since release. Whenever there is a civil war going the capitulation always gives everything to the rebels, regardless of contribution.
