Finished my first game since release so that I'm itself shows how much I'm enjoying the expac. Sure a few mechanics need ironing out, but I think Utopia is a giant step in the right direction.
A few things though that desperately need improving.
1. Ticking war score and more war score for big battles.
Crikey Wars drag on without them! Quite why you have these great mechanics nailed in your other titles and not copy it here I will never know.
2. Setting war goals screen is a nightmare.
Huge list of planets....which names you can't see on the map without entering systems, You can see stars of course but in the list there is no order, not even alphabetized, no faction split, can't choose via the map. Frankly it's infuriating. I don't want to spend 10 minutes declaring war. Again great mechanics for this in EU and CK. If it ain't broke....
3. Fleet builder template
Please add one.
4. Tech needs to make bigger difference.
Tech means nothing. It needs to be more like EU. Less tech jumps, more difference to power upon teaching up. Little tech heavy fleets should be able to beat larger outraged ones. They can't at moment.
5. Fleets need to be more important.
Loads of threads on this, but yeah, smaller more valuable fleets. Losing a battleship should be a war changer and a devastating loss for the amount materials that went into it.
6. Sector instructions by planet option.
Allow us to instruct sectors by planet please. Sometimes I want that mineral sector to build a tech world on the +30% society planet.
