looking forward to the new dlc.
just a few questions:

1:what is the rough area affected by the randomizer? I ask because Greenland shares a sea tile with Iceland, and St. Helena and south Georgia island is pretty far out.
while the Falkland's, Bermuda, and Alaska's Aleutian Islands are a lot closer to the North America mainland.

2.can you play as a native tribe on a randomized north America continent?

3.with all this colonial talk, will we have some sort of Monroe doctrine? I know its shortly after EU4 ends, however a lot nations do emerge earlier than they did in real life. and since everyone and their momma can get colonies....:glare:
USA and most new countries that appear in N.A are a joke. USA/others will need something to send everyone and they momma's bags packing.
Because every game I saw USA pop up for example, the just:

A.get eaten by Spain

OR
B. vassled, fed, and dipio-annexed by the player

* ....and once in a blue moon, eaten by Norway and Great Britain.

4. How far can we migrate as natives? because I'm guessing we cant just go through the Aztec lands, go to south America, and get a quick westernization, or something silly like migrating all the way to Siberia!

hey going to Siberia would sound nice....until Russia comes!

looking forward to January!

Is there not going to be pre-order for this? It look like window between now and its release date is going to be too short for pre-order.

I didn't think they did pre-order for DLCs? Have they done in the past, e.g. for CK2?

This isn't DLC per se. It's an expansion, and IIRC, we had pre-orders for Divine Wind expansion for EU3 as well the Heart of Darkness expansion for Vicky2. I guess, this time, this will be an exception.

Ah but that's why I asked re CK2. The old "expansion" model is dead - how things were done for EU3, V2, HOI3 etc is no longer relevant.

CK2 used the new model, where there's not really 'expansions', there's just DLCs. DLCs may be small or they may be big and very much like 'expansions', but they're all still called DLCs. And I am pretty sure they never do pre-ordering for them.

The new model is much better because unlike with the old Expansions, all DLCs are optional. And, even more importantly, there's just a single line of patches which everyone gets. In EU3, they had 1.x patches for vanilla, then 2.x patches for the first expansion, 3.x for second expansion, etc. If you didn't buy any expansions, then you could only get the 1.x patches and after a while you never got any more patches; ditto just getting up to 2.x patches if you only bought the second expansion, and so on.

And you could only buy the third or fourth expansion if you'd also bought the first and second.

With the new system, you can pick and choose DLCs and you get differing amounts of functionality accordingly. But you always still get all patches - including some new features - even if you never buy a single DLC.

So, in the colonial states dev diary (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZHyVdVrcUI) at 2:03 Johan mentions they removed the old tariffs system and shows how the new tariffs system works with colonial nations..

But the new colonial nations is only for the Americas right? so how would the new tariffs system work for colonies in Africa or Asia?
Do they still have the old tariffs system for colonies elsewhere so you actually have two different tariff systems at the same time?

(PS: I love how the minimap now doesn't show what you haven't discovered yet.)

We don't know. My belief is that probably tariffs elsewhere are unchanged, but it's also possible that they've removed the word 'tariffs' such that non-Americas colonies now earn Production like home provinces.

Please see this thread, where in post #8 I gave a longer answer to this same question: Colonial nations just in the new world?

Since this is my seventh post on the forums, I am uncertain if this is allowed or not (the rules I found had no mention of this), but for Europeans I would suggest heading to greenmangaming.com to pre-order the expansion.
They have the standard 10% off pre-order, an additional 20% off for all purchases done before 6ht of January 6.00 pm UTC (voucher code GMG20-ZB5D1-93X49) and the price is in US$ instead of Euros, making the total $10.80 or 8 euros.

I am also including my referral link http://www.greenmangaming.com/?gmgr=susaxuze, which grants me and the person that I referred $2 store credit upon first purchase and $0.1 to each other for every purchase made.
And if you are not a fan of referral links http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/si/en/pc/games/strategy/europa-universalis-iv-conquest-paradise/ a normal one.

I apologize once gain, if posts like mine are not tolerated on the forums.
