Examination of the Mountain storm exercise.
Ahemm...
I am Lt Col Smith and i'm here to brief the parliment on the now finished exercise Mountain Storm.
The purpose of the exercise was to show the readiness and capability of our armed forces.
In short the mission for the units was this.
The amphibius and ranger units together with the airborne had the objective of attacking a area in WET.
The other unts exept a artillery battalion was to defend.
This area was in our combined National park/training area.
The exercise also included numerous live fire exercises.
The exercise started with that the units from the 11 armoured division got stuck in trafic on their way up to the exercise.
This delayed the most potent part of the defending units and more importantly all the defending units artillery and armoured units.
During a manouver in the first week the 113th mech inf regiment also with parts managed to wander into a protected habitat.
This was the habitat of the pink spotted eutopian tit.

This is the area now.
[shows after picture]
As you can see they did serius damage to this habitat of this rare bird, the young small trees and bushes this bird likes were completly destroyed by the reckless movment of armoured units there.
The 113th regiment also managed to constantly end up in the wrong place at the wrong time due to poor coordination and command from the 211th regiment which was the defending units commander.
There are however more serius matters.
During one of the live fire exercises a destroyer which was supposed to give fire support for the marines managed to get several coordinates incorrectly and shelled a nearby barn.
The barn was completly destroyed and almost all livestock in it had to be put to death, luckily no human got injured.
Of course there has been a few human injuries but only 3 serius, theese were 2 broken bones and 1 2nd degree burn on a soldier which was to close to a jet blast on the carrier.
But if it hadn't been for the quick thinking of the captain of the ENS Unmatchable we would have had a lot of people dead.
The Airforce attack division was training air to ship engagements and somehow one of the planes had gotten a live missile on it.
This missile was launced at the carrier group were the ENS Unmatchable was acting as AAW ship. When the captain saw understood that the missile was a live missile he managed to get the ships live weapons on line quickly enough to save the ship and a lot of its crew.
Conclusion is that several units performed above and beyond their training mainly the Marines, Mountain Rangers and the 211th Infantry regiment. This is notable since the 211th is a 2nd tier unit and gets less funds for training than the 113th which is a 1st tier unit. The mishap with the live missile is a horrible problem which is beeing looked into, also the captain of the destroyer that shelled the barn is beeing investigated for reckless behavior.
All in all there has been an appaling lack of capabilities coupled with several occurances of bad command and training in all branches of the military.
On a brighter note, we did manage to keep it in budget.
[OOC: Had to use a representative of the armed forces instead of my self, tought it was more realistic

oh well /OOC]
