Things like non-existent people in charge of non-existent countries declaring war, sending supplies, etc? I'm sure you could just write around it. Just adopt the sci-fi/fantasy way of explaining inconsistencies: aliens/wizards.
Seriously, though, I too am looking forward to the continuation of this AAR and I'm sure all your efforts will be worth it the day we see "Fire Warms" appear in the HOI2 forum.

Thank you also to everyone who supported this AAR in the AARLand Choice voting (where I guess you won't see it again!). Fire Warms came in 3rd overall for the whole forum, competing against some incredibly well-told tales, and against some remarkably well-respected (deservedly so) authors (The Yogi, Mettermrck, and MacRaith), so... I'm very happy to have earned your respect as well!

I was wondering why I had always struggled to get enough military leader personalities (though I had some great ones!) in the early game, and then toward the end I had passels of them showing up on my doorstep every few months... It never occurred to me that the South Germans would have so many officers (even though, to read the histories, the S. German and Austrian armies were 90% officer and 10% soldier :rofl: ... okay, I exaggerate. Some. ).
as i just re-read this passage, i remembered something from what little Vicky games i have played. specifically, that the Austrians maintained their military at 10 percent strength. that is, each 10,000 division would only have 1,000 men in it! !

I'd like to say that, of all the AARs I've read, this one is my favorite, and likely forever shall be. The French turnabout was one of the most masterful scenes short of user-created events possible, I must say, and the rest of the AAR following was nothing short of spectacular.

this looks like a typo to me, Renss. either Dundee should be something else, or Ludendorff should be Hindenburg...

Fulcrumvale! I apologize, for I somehow did not see your comment the first time through. GhostWriter reminded me. But I definitely appreciate your kind comment, and your interest in reading all this time! I especially appreciate that you went to the trouble to get an account so you could tell me. Fire Warms is up, now, for what will probably be its final contest (certainly the last one I'm aware of for which it qualifies) -- the VictAARian Cross -- and, naturally, I appreciate those who have been voting for it there also!
For those who have asked, the conversion to HOI II is on hold VERY temporarily.... Just have too many projects going on right now to be able to fit time in. After the elections are over, or perhaps before, I will surely be back at it!

This being the AAR that first, back when you almost lost to France, convinced me to buy the game, and secondly, convinced me to start writing an AAR of my own, I feel a certain affection for Fire Warms. You, sir, have made an epic of this wonderful masterpiece. I salute you!
