Finnic Portraits anyone?

Portraits are very needed for them. Current one's don't just cut it for them.

What should they be like:

Blonde, definately blonde. Now, here is a fairly high chance that you make a mistake here. No, blonde is not just the piss-yellow and silver-white. Blonde hair color is a separate hair color all together. Just like red hair. The gradient of blonde is something like this: almost-white, light beige, beige, dark beige, light ash brown, ash brown, dark ash brown, almost black. A key to tell the difference between actual brown gradient blonde and the north-east european blonde is the vividness of the color. North-east european blonde hair are not very vivid. Each shade is plain and doesn't stick into the eye. The hair colors, that the current Norse portrait pack has, is vivid and strikes out.

Facial features. Well, none. In the sense that no pronounced features at all. Finnic faces are smooth.

Please no. If this is made by the same guys as the other portrait packs, we'll end up with the Finns having really strange, undetailed skin like the Norse and the Russians. Finns may not exactly like Western Europeans but they'll look a hell of a lot less like the aliens a portrait pack would make them look like.

As I've said before I think there are more pressing issues with the game, especially considering the general quality of facepacks I don't think Finns need anything more than paganish clothes.

And please not by whoever made the Med Portraits. They are - well, not bad, but Comic-style. Plus they got creepy eyes right now.
The ones you listed I don't find that bad personally.

Agreed on the issues; but Graphics are a totally seperate development process IIRC. That's why Meds don't get fixed, I assume
And "general quality"? You can't say that. Compare Mediterranean prtraits to the Celtic ones. I find the latter one to be no worse than vanilla.

Indeed samoyeds are a completely different animal alltogether. The kind of finnic pack would actually fit to quite a lot of peoples in north eastern europe. Not 1:1 but better than german one's, that's for sure.

Give them norse clothes? This seems to me be quite the adaquate since i think they would have worn more fur.

Just remove the iron and replace with leather

The Russian faces look like aliens. The Meds looked like they spent hours in one of those suntan box things and then got covered in soot. The Norse's skin is ok but it looks completely different to other European skin(which makes no sense because Swedes don't look different to the rest of us Europeans in terms of skin) and it has like half the detail of the western European skin.

Yeah, they should really hire some QA. But PI is lacking QA not only in the graphics department
But consider Celtic and Turkish portraits, those are good, aren't they?

Celtic, yes, that is well done(although I don't understand why on earth they felt the need to give them different skin. CELTIC PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME SKIN AS GERMANS AND ENGLISH, SO DO THE NORSE). Turkish, not so much. Turkish eyes are all messed up and their faces look pixelated and compressed.

I'd suggest using the Russian or Norse portrait for Baltic Finns and the Turkic portrait for Samoyeds, Mordvins, etc.

Russian face pack doesn't fit. Here is a simple rule of thumb for seeing, what face pack fits for north-eastern europe. If you can distinguish a cheeckbone, it does not fit.

Currently the best fit for north eastern europe are the turkish faces, but so that the complexion is white/pale and the color of the hair is something beige.

If CrackedToothGrin would do it, I'd buy even Secret Bear portrait pack. But if it would be done by "Russian faces" guy, then no. Although if Med. Faces guy's done, I'd buy it just for the hell of it.

Crackd didn't do Russians or Celts, he did Turks, Persians and Indians. I would pay for him to make Russians anew, because current clothing, for example, has nothing to do with clothes from any period of Russian history.

Persian and Turkish were really well done actually IMO. The clothes look fantastic, although why does their skin look so grey? And sometimes the Persian women portraits look like their faces are about to melt, literally

But anyways, a Finno-Urgric portrait pack is fine with me, as long as it's done right, unlike the Mediterranean faces... yuck!

Finns look like Scandinavian folks so thats not a big issue. However the Mediteranean facepack needs serious work. After that a South Indian facepack should be added. But most of all we need more details. More events, more character detail etc.

I'd rather have a Finnic facepack than a South Indian facepack; as is they look the same as Frenchmen. And I'm pretty sure the people who work on the facepacks and the like aren't the same people who work on the stuff that adds more 'details'.
