Finland under Swedish rule in 1066?

What's the situation in Finland in 1066? Is it "independent" or has the swedes already added Finland under their rule?

I'd like to know this because I'd like to recreate some ugrish power to the north. So is Novgorod the only way to go? :rofl:

Lots of independent pagan chiefdoms..

Not sure if Åland and Åbo-area is swedified in that scenario though.

But since they aren't christian, you will of course not be able to play them... You would have to play Sweden/Novogord and christianize them first (can you force convert an enemy in a peace deal? Otherwise you would have to conquer them and release a Finnish duchy and reload as that).

Or more easy :

You conquert Finland... You give Finland to your Older son, and the rest of your kindom to your other sons... then when you die, you will play your older son who has only Finland

then overtax those in sweden until they rebell.. and voila a solely finnish kingdom
