Yes that is exactly what Im saying, English is my first language I just worded it poorly because I was frustrated because I had written a really long well worded argument/ complaint but accidentally deleted it
In that case I agree with you completely. It'll be pretty darn disappointing if Portugal has no unique general portraits or 2D art when even Mexico got plenty of both. It could be that they're still WIP and will be added in at the last minute. Let's hope that's the case. Even fantasy 2D sprites are preferable to the blank, black silhouettes that generic countries get.
and how often will you see AI or player made divisions using that sprite?
95% of the time they will be used for recon and anti-partisan operations, if they had limited it to one each and made a 2 Portugal sprites (cav.+inf). one armored car for Spain and one more tank that would have felt like a better use of resources.
Indeed, one has to wonder if there's really any place for armored cars in combat divisions. It seems the third armored car tech has an anti-tank variant, perhaps that could have a niche use as a poor man's AT solution in motorized divisions, but beyond that it's a bit of a head scratcher to me.
It seems their main use will be in recon companies and for suppression divisions.
There is an option to set which 3D sprite your division will be represented as, and you can choose pretty much anything that at least one of your battalions is. One battalion of armored car will probably let you use it as the division sprite. But yeah... definitely would have preferred more Spanish Civil War sprites and Portuguese sprites to armored car sprites that will rarely, if ever, actually be seen.
