Hi flankspeed,

1. Fines are penalty fees. When someone gets inside your vehicle without paying, sometimes the inspector will get that person and give a fine.

2. I used couple of times and I didn't like it, because make all stops crowed and people started to love and then hate my company. I think I will use only when I'm sure I can handle the increase of customers.

Personally, I'd like advertising to work on a more local level so that I can advertise a certain route to try to bolster my ridership on that route, that would be most helpful for advertising in my opinion.

Hi flankspeed,

Who pays the fine? In this sentence it sounds like the inspector (therefore my company) pays the fine rather than the cheater.

It will work like real life in that if a person gets on a bus or train without paying then if an inspector finds them then it's the person who is without a valid ticket who pays the fine which then will go into your company's cash flow and you get the extra cash to spend etc.

Thanks for clarifying... This makes more sense

Cheers.

I'm glad I could help you. The penalty fares system is pretty good since it helps to have that there as an extra source on income and makes the point of making any fare evaders pay a penalty fare so hopefully they learn their lesson and buy a ticket next time.

I find advertizing useful when the network is designed to satisfy the customers, that is working fluidly at around 80 pc full capacity per stop (not uneven distribution of passengers over stops with stops getting 20 pc capacity while others attract 200 pc capacity)

When in downturn, the used capacity of the network falls. At this point, advertizing comes handy as it sends back people to your network.

When in overheat, hiked up prices and better wages for inspectors to get people who are overloading the network (trying to reduce the number of people having access to the network)
