I think that "Fine road heights" is one of the most used (and useful) mods ever released for CS. It's the only suitable way to fine tuning roads elevation and placement in the game. But this mod is actually also a great pain for users, because every time we get an official patch release, this mod causes conflicts and ceases to work, or worse, causes the game to broke, like with the yesterday released official patch.

So I was wondering, why don't the Devs build the otherwise simply features of this mod (mainly 3m or 1m precision elevation for road building and the possibility to choose between creating bridges or banks when elevating roads) into the core game, like they already did previously with other features that were available only in mods?

I am pretty sure that I am not the only one to really, really hate the unrealistic vanilla 12m steps elevation in building roads. Thanks.

This mod is one of the most important mods to make the game look good. Without a mod like this i would'nt play this game anymore. But i can unterstand if CO think it is too complicated for casual gamers. So i would recommend making the fine road heights selectable in the contentpanel like "Hardmode" & "Unlimited Money"

I can fully understand them not including the ability to select between tunnels and ditches for stuff below ground level and bridges vs built up earth for riased roads for the base game, but at the very least, a smaller graduation between (PgUp and PgDn) levels should have been included

Now if only the -3m steps could be used also to build roads below terrain from 0 to -12, instead of starting always from -12m, we could do again sunken roads, and -9m tunnels.

I understand that the minimum level for building underground roads is hardcoded to -12m for cosmetical reasons, but it would be great for building realistic roads and railways if the Devs will let us build at -3m, -6m and -9m too (as the, now broken, FRH mod allowed to do).

However, thanks again to the Devs for always listening their faithful customers!:)

I totally agree.

I tried the in-game version. It's better than it was before, but i'm still hating how the slopes behave.

I wish everything was as gentle as in Cities XXL.

Roads conform TOO MUCH to the terrain, I'd wish for the terrain to completely 100% conform to the road like it Cities XXL

This is how it looks like placing roads in Cities:skylines.

This is how CXXL allows you to build roads

How awesome would it be, if roads in Cities Skylines (with fine roads mod) would be even just half as smooth as in (modded) CXXL
