So I'm doing some internal colonization. I look at a world and apparently its a 23 space world with 90% habitability. This is great, and I try to get started.

But its only 90% for one race and apparently I only have two of these people. They are from a hostile empire, and the only way I can think of having any of them is that one of my current vassals used to have a migration treaty before they became my vassal. And then they moved into my territory.

But now I want to load them into a colony ship and take advantage of that 90%. And I can't find them. The species tab lists the species, but doesn't list the world. And I've been through every world with a space port with a fine tooth comb.

Is the 90% possibly the system counting worlds in sectors w/o spaceports? Or worlds in vassals?

I don't believe it counts vassals - pretty sure on that - but it'd definitely count worlds without spaceports.

Go into Species View and start the gene modding process for that species. It'll show you what world(s) they're on.

As said , it includes non spaceport planets. It does not include anything else, like pre-sentients or vassals.
I usually make sure that ALL planets have a spaceport, so I can just press colonize on the planet overwiew, select apropriate pop, and the rest is automated.

As if the force limit increase weren't enough incentive on it's own to have a level 6 spaceport on every planet :)

I have been surprised sometimes to see a particular species on one of my planets and wondered 'how did that get there?'. Usually it's a minor protectorate/vassal that I integrated, that had signed a migration treaty. Anyway, I play on small and medium maps so my empires are never massive, I can usually find the right sort of species from the the expansion planner just by finding planets of the same climate type.
