I'll never understand why people say Outlander is slow. The story is quite detailed and it is a largely fictional account of that time period, as it is based on novels. Season 2 starts soon though

By insight on the times I meant more the costumes and settings, which to me seem largely accurate. As for the Jacobite uprisings I'm not intimately familiar with the history. It's slow in that there really isn't very much action which is fine but not always what I'm interested in.
Oh yeah then I totally agree. Those redcoat costumes are some of the best I've seen. The Highlanders look great too. The weapons are really well crafted too, look like the real thing.
I like the fact that most of the show is filmed in Southern/Central Scotland and not in the Highlands, pretty convincing though isn't it?
I think Season 2 will concentrate more on Bonnie Prince Charlie (Charles Stuart) and the uprisings.

Kinda offtopic-ish, but playing Uncharted Waters: New Horizons on the Super NES also gets me in the mood to play EUIV somehow
