I found where the local files are kept and I can see the files for the games Maps, Mods etc, okay great! o_O
What I cant find are the files that store the maps and assets we make ourselves. Does anyone know how to find and save these files? I'd like to save my maps and my assets in a separate file so that I can delete everything for awhile and play a completely vanilla game. I've had too much trouble with this new DLC (I bought Natural Disasters) and I'd like to see if I have better luck with just the files that come with the game. I don't want to lose the items like my maps and assets that I spent hours and hours making, so I thought if I could save them in a separate file and delete them off Steam I could add them back in the future when I get a better computer or I can find some cheaper way to fix this problem. Which at this point may be months....
Or am I just screwed and can only delete this stuff and start all over again? This would suck as I've had this game for a long time now have have invested so much time. I don't care so much about my cities, though it would be nice to save those for the future too if possible.

Your own files are in c:\users\[your user name]\app data\local\Colossal Order\ folder.

EDIT: App data is hidden folder, so you have to change your visibility settings to be able to see it in the file browser.

Not having any luck with that path. I am running Windows 8.1 if that makes any difference. Am I to use my computer name or the Steam user name? I tried both and didn't find it. I have "show hidden files" check marked too. I searched the "user data" file, in Steam but came up empty...all I can find are the games vanilla map names and mods.:( Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm not completely computer illiterate, but just barely.

I am running Win8.1 and can confirm that a map I made is located in:
C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Maps

and a park I made is in:
C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Addons\Assets

Replace "[user name]" with your user name / account name. Not computer name.
AppData is hidden, as Torakka said. You should be able to make it visible.

If you can't get it visible, try going to:
C:\Users\[user name]
and then go up to the path and type "AppData" after C:\Users\[user name] and hit enter.
You should be able to continue from there.
Or paste the whole path
C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\
with your user name edited into it.

Found it! Thank you both. What I had to do is just enter the C:\Users\ in the Steam Local files page...it seems mine is under my computer name and not the name I use in Steam. Not sure what's up with that, but I found it with all my maps and my assets. So thank you both. I feel silly now, seems so simple once I found it...

Yeah, the [user name] is your Windows user name and that AppData folder is place where many other programs also store some of their information. It is not really related to Steam in any relevant way (except that some Steam games, like C:S store some of their information there).

I can see where the confusion with "user name" came from. Glad you found it now.

I'm glad we are long past the days of DOS, but I do miss having folders like:
D:\GAMES\XYZ
and anything to do with XYZ would be found in that directory, not splattered all around your system in "Documents", "AppData", the registry, and so forth.
