Hey guys.
Bought the game this morning and have gone through all the tutorials and "most" of the manual. However i'm a bit dissappointed, not by the game which is well polished, but rather by the fact that most things tend to worsen on their own no matter what is done (noticed the same thing in HOI so it's probably me)
I'm originally an EU3 player and in that game, it seems that, all parameters kept equals, your nation will slowly better over the years. (you won't WIN a game by waiting around but at least your budget will allow you not to go bankrupt and you can diplomacy around in peace)
Vicky II (and HOI III) are the polar opposite on that regard : If you don't do anything and thry to observe how things evolve, your nation will go from worse to dead, while your enemies will magically keep their head above water in worse situations.
EX : 2nd game, Playing as the USA. My budget goes from +112 in the first few days to -27... All my trade is automated and yet my factories say they need more cotton to produce cloth. That seems logical. What seems less logical is that i produce around 90 units, sell only 17 and my industries are still magically short although they need only 27... What happens to the 45 or so extra units ?
Following this willing non utilization of available ressources, factories go bankrupt even when i subsidize them, and large areas of the states suffer from a 100% unemployement.
Past my rant, my point is here : How are you to fight uneployement if you can't build new factories and if the ones you have are anyway failing to do anything ?
