I play as Sweden, and of course choose to help Finland in the winter war. I spend all my resources developing basic fighters and divebombers to do some real damage against the russians.
After some weeks of fighting my airforce usually ends up in a great furball of fighters over either Leningrad or Helsinkin. This usually works very well, and I seem to at least sometimes have the upper hand in the aircombat. My planes return, gets refuled refitted and goes back out into the fighting again.
Now here comes the "funny" part:
Sometimes my air-divisons gets completely wiped out.
I send them in, they slugg it out in the air with the opfor, then never returns. I dont get any notice that I have lost a whole division, i get nothing... just a doomed army with no topcover.
Usually some survivoirs make it back if something has gone terrible worng in a battle, but now the whole counter is gone missing. (And NO, it isnt in my force pool, and its not even listed in my ledger) The commander of the unit is still is alive, but thats all.
I can accept that large numbers of air units can get wiped out and whole divisons destroyed, but not with out someone giving me a notice.
