After playing HOI IV a few hours in a friends pc, I have some thougts about how to improve the game.
Aerial game.
-When I played, the game was like: three years building thousands of planes all of us, and nearly all of them where destroyed in the first weeks of war. After that, the faction with remaining planes had already won the air. Maybe the losses should be tuning down, to allow planes survive more time into the war? I dont know if it has already been addressed in last patches.
-Smaller air zones. In europe is not such a problem, but in less developed areas, where zones are so big that fighters NEVER have 100% range, it is. If I have an airport 20km far from my front in China, I should not have penalties, even if that air zone is enormous. Air zones should be much shorter, and allow an air wing to be asigned to many zones at same time. (it would work like now, but the wing selects the actual battle where to act from all battles in ALL their assigned air zones. depending in wich air zone is the battle placed, the penalty will vary)
About production. (First, I have to say that this part of the game is AWESOME. I really love the production part, but it can be improved in some ways.)
-Military factories divided in heavy an light. Heavy for tanks, planes and so, and ligth for small arms and equipment, perhaps trucks. That way, a small, less developed country can make his own firearms but is unable to build big tanks. Maybe even a different subtype for planes.
-Actual location of factories. Each production in the production line should be attached to actual factories, or at least limited to factories in one aerial zone. That way, strategic bombing could be aimed to specific factories, or to specific productions. Now, your dearest productions are ABSOLUTELY SAFE from aerial bombing, just placing them in the top of the list.
UI.
-Notifications are so needed... I was busy dealing with Poland and didnt realize that Britain was storming my beaches until they where near Berlin!
Spies. Intelligence operations played a mayor role in WWII, and are reduced to 0 in HOI IV.
-There could be a pool of spies able to do different tasks (improving intel data of a country or in a territory, sabotage, etc). Also there could be ways to steal enemy battle-plans, and so on.
