Few Italy things...

I have been playing with my friend in Mp. My friend has allways been german and i have been Italy, Brazil, Japan, Hungary, Yugoslavia, UUSR. I have allways los all games I would need help with Italy. My bigest problem is the north africa. I dont like navy, so i dont do it much. When i join axis, UK destroys my all ships(convoys)and my troops in africa will die soon. Shoudl i take all troops away from africa and attack to Greec and the other little nations?

Well, your best bet would be to expand your navy; if you want a total victory over the Allies you'll need to take Africa. Pulling out of Libya when you'll need to retake it later would be a waste.

What I've done is build up my naval bomber arm. 6 basic naval bombers by the war's beginning will give you the punch to whither away the Allied Navy, or at least keep those convoys to Tripoli going.

I love Italy. Played it twice. I love the challenge of being the underdog. I conquered both France and Russia (can't wait for passive german AI)! In my first game I conquered all of Africa. It was an awesome and long battle.
In Russia we fought from 1941 to 1943. I had Moscow and Tankograd (industrial base in the Ural) and was besieging Leningrad when I friend my brain. I still warmly remember my Black Sea landing... I also landed in India but was kicked out... =( Aww! that was fun. Also neat was Poland declaring war on me during the battle of Bucharest... And my blitz move to pocket their whole army (30 divisions) in Romania via the fall of Lvov...

I like to annex Yugoslavia, it's my first phase. Summer 1937 sounds good. You can take it in 2 months. Then I moved to Romania to secure my oil. Then Greece. Should all be done in a year, plus redeployment. Usually the French are static so I lay low in the Alps...

When you attack Yugoslavia you also have to be ready in Africa. Have it well garrisoned. think defensive first. If you can have 3 tank divisions it will do wonder. I like to send mad horses to link asap with my Ethiopian. Let the Brits attack Tobruk and be ready with a second line at full organization. Like 3 tanks and 3 infantry at least. then roll this force until alexandria.

In the Mediterranean Sea indeed I use Naval Bombers to control the sea. I base my forces in Syracuse with fighters. I try to not engage my navy unless I have air cover. This is what prove to be the deciding factor. To engage outside air cover is dangerous for the Brits have superior units and leadership. I only do transport mission. Of course if you're engaged send everything at once! Usually I can destroy the Brits navy i teh Med no problem. Not that I am THAT good, just the AI who is, er, irrational at times.

Useless to say boost your industry! I build industry until I reach 8 points.

Also always have Air Superiority whenever you attack. I usually have 1 place in my front where I concentrate my best leaders and have total air superiority. this allows for unconditional support of troops and quick demoralization of the foe!

My friend and I played me, Germany and him Italy, he didn't know convoys, lost most of his navy and was panicking when Britain landed on the boot. He then gave me most of his navy. What I did was grab the suez with a landing in Lebanon with 3 divisions and pushed down to the Suez with Rommel and 3 Panzers. Then I bid my time and when Gilbraltar was empty I took it.

This effectively ended the British threat. In your situation I would ask for three panzer divisions from my friend, then quickly take the Suez. The British navy will annoy you, but fight a losing battle to complete the landings.

Im in my first Italian game, and it is working well. Prior to war, annex Jugoslavia and greece, the WA did not DOW me for this. Get military acsess in Spain, and prepare some Tacs (need some good TACs) and naval bombers. Fly them next to Gibraltar. Build up some mountain forces, and then build forces to defend Africa. When war brakes out, you launch an attack at Gibraltar, closing that british acsess, and next take egypt. Voila: the british navy served on a plate for your naval bombers. Then, take Iraq. Im now just about to launch attacks on Spain and Turkey. Next is Persia and Caucasus. Next the rest of the world I wish I could leave my alliance with Germany, because it would be great to have a summer house in Berlin 1943
