i didn't know that it was possible

so i've started a new 1 system 1-2 planet(s) run with divine imperial earth as feudal overlord, now i'm about to acquire my first vassal after having liberated him from a criminal mega corp

will the buff from grand admiral apply to him too?

One of the things that, for whatever reason, never made it into the tooltip.
Which is perplexing, given that it it is such a game changer.

Not that it turns it into a good Civic, but it fundamentally changes how you view your vassals.

definitely! that's why i didn't pick this civic until now, and in the few vassal focused campaigns that i had i used to build the starbases myself and then transferred them to my vassals, which was rather tedious because you can only transfer adjacent system at once

too bad, so they'll need proper babysitting after all

Now, if only it followed its own internal logic of "very independent subordinates" and lets them sign commercial treaties, and treaties amongst themselves, as well as war amongst themselves.

You know, like an actual feudal empire...

I prefer to liberate everyone from themselves.

To be honest being a hegemon in a federation with as many of the "president decides" laws as possible is far far better than taking vassals. You still get what are basically minions, you get the federation bonuses, and you get the federation fleet to use.
