I'm not sure what shes doing with this list but I hope evryone will help out. We have lost our copy of EUII and can't get the monarch lists ourselves.

Anyway thanks

Mary I of England was the first child of Henry VIII.
Also known as Bloody Mary.(1553-1558 )

Mary I of Scotland was almost a contemporary and a cousin and is better known as Mary Queen of Scots. (1542-1568) The reign dates are arguable as she spent her youth in France while being officially Queen and never accepted her abdication.

Her son was James I of England (when Elizabeth died) and James VI of Scotland.

The time period is full of reigning queens. Hence John Knox wrote "The First Blast of the Trumpet Against the Monstrous Regiment of Women" which did not endear him to Elizabeth :)

Bloody Mary!

Mary of England is not to be confused with Mary, Queen of Scots, who was executed in Elizabeth I's reign. So, Mary of England was NOT also Queen of Scotland. A joint sovereign of England and Scotland did not come about until the reign of James I (I think James VI in Scotland) until Elizabeth's death in 1603. He was the first Stuart king in England.
