The game will only have christian feudal rulers playable.

No merchant republics, no moslems, no pagans, no mongol hordes, no religious orders, etc...

The mechanics designed just do not fit for them, and in the scope of CRUSADER KINGS we want to make a game about playing crusader kings.

If the game is popular enough, we'll probably make expansions.. Maybe one of them could allow something else to be played, but I'm not sure thats a good focus yet...

Making a mod to play muslims without mechanics to make them different doesn't really sound like anything that would be interesting to those people that know enough about history and what makes the different types of states behave.

But it WILL be possible to mod in, right? Even if mechanics would seem odd, I'd still like to play a pagan duchy of Pomerania or that Swedish pagan king I heard about in here lately - I just don't like to be limited.
(And it would make some problems for total conversions if only christian religions ever were playable - which would make all fantasy religions unplayable)

Should be in theory be possible.

Modding the game to enable muslims. Well, its probably possible, but thats like modding EU3 and renaming Spain to Orcs, France to Trolls, and England to Tauren, and expect the game to now be a good World of Warcraft.

Crusader Kings have mechanics to simulate the internal systems of feudal christian states. It doesn't simulate alien invasions from outerspace, NOR the internal mechanics of moslem states.

I understand that english is not a first language of most people here, but.. I'll say it again.

This is a game about FEUDAL CHRISTIAN STATES.

Whats next.. people going to be pissed off that North America is not on the map?

You really can't see how people buying a game explicitly about the Crusades might want to enable the main other side in the conflict?

They might want to, but since the lead Dev has specifically said this game won't, it's kind of a moot point. Muslims/Native Americans/Aliens, it's all pretty much the same at the level of:
"This game is about X"
"Why can't it also be about Y, which would play very differently?"

You can "probably" mod the game to make Muslims playable, but they won't play like Muslims, they'll play like a Christen nation with Muslim names, much like Spain renamed to Orcs won't suddently have green sprites and a pillage bonus.

And "probably" is due to the fact that the game is nowhere near done yet, not to mention no one is wasting time trying to mod in Muslims at the moment.

I'm not quite sure what you mean there. They will be officially disabled, you will (probably) be able to mod them to be playable, assuming that works you are then free to make whatever muslim-immersion mods to want to make. The hostility people are expressing is towards the posts saying the game should include fully playable Muslim nations and is somehow failing by not having them.
