I really appreciate to see cool suggestions from this thread being slowly included
Instead of that we get new ugly and same everywhere colors, smallers and less buttons, two lines for post titles when only one is needed, forcing to scroll more to find recent threads, and, the worse thing imagineable for a serious site, a connexion to the facething world company and other "web 2.0" crap.
I wonder when companies will realize that if we are on their old style forums having argumented discussions on their products like civilized people and not actually typing "lolwutz" and clicking "I like" on some web 2.0 crap commercial intrusive site hidden under a social feature it's not because we ask for web 2.0 false convivality and intrusive adds invasion there too.
Too dark fer me. Previously, the colors throughout were balanced. Although this vb4 blue does seem bland.
The white/blue one was definitely too boring. I've switched back to Dark blue and am liking it now.
I won.
Can we not get back to the old posting-method?
And User CP located back into proper place.
And the colour left of this message text.
And increase names and avatar sizes?
Bah! til the next time then...
If there was a green/brown skin, I'd vote for that to be the only forum skin color.
I won. Face it.![]()
Great that you spend time working on the forum, but it baffles me that you spend it on 'social media' and skinning while search remains broken. I don't expect to understand all your priorities, but seriously? Most every forum on the entire internet has at least rudimentary search... many of them orders of magnitude larger and more trafficked than this.
If vBulletin is the problem, spend your time migrating and stop developing for a broken system.
Regarding the new forum, I'm getting fond of it. At first look it didn't seem very enticing but now that I've browsed, posted, da da da - it is rather pleasing... I'd like to commend the people behind this.
edit: Although, admittedly there are quite a number of bugs still..![]()
The Google site search thingee isn't much more than a lame work-around. These forums should have their own search function -- like any respectable forums.Probably not. But the Google site search function performs the same task, and there's no 30 second time limit between searches that way.
I think its too bland and run-of-the-mill (well, its vBulletin)
The old Paradox fora looked unique. Now it simply looks like a random page thrown together by a "make your own forum" toolset.
Yeah, but the old one had been tweaked to look unique. After the update everything looks like just any forum around there.Erm... The old one was vBulletin.
