I agree. However, they shouldn't be suppressed because they are behind cover. They should take damage, but not at the rate it is now. What should happen is the building should take damage. If the building takes so much damage and the infantry are inside, the building collapses and the infantry die. The stress can go up and have their return fire rate penalized in some way, but as of right now there isn't a unit in the game that can't out range them as it is. Infantry units are currently broken in this regard. MG teams can fire back, but no AT rockets, and no long range rifle fire. Its really upsetting. 100m should be 500m and the AT rockets should be maybe a little further, say 600m with long reload times so they don't make the regular AT guns obsolete.

Same for the AA guns. They shouldn't be able to take out infantry from super long range. Thats another matter entirely tho

agreed. the moment some halftracks or whatnot get a visual on a squad in a building 800m away they all open up at the same time and a continuous stream of bullets (literally) rains down on and kills the squad one by one in a matter of moments. the squad becomes combat ineffective since you can't even combine 2 understrength squads to a new one ... infantry definitely needs some improvements

Speaking of visuals, doesn't it seem that recon seem a bit under-powered in terms of actual recon? You really don't need them as much as you should unless you have mortars or artillery but even then you can't really see that far. You can get the same effect really by sticking a infantry team in the woods on return fire only. Maybe that needs a boosted range as well. I'm not saying to let them see inside buildings or anything, but they should have increased visibility through forests and other small obstacles.

Tomorrow I'm going to try and experiment. Since we have two different types of maps, ill do both but I expect the same results. One side I'll have a mix of infantry, the other a mix of only armor. I'm going to set the infantry AI to medium and the Armor to Very Easy. I'm just curious who would win. (The rest of the units will be locked/empty assuming it lets you save with empty tabs. We'll see.) If the results are working and interesting enough, I'll post the video

Too bad the modding stuff doesn't work yet or I'd try to find a way to make or minimize the map to get the right controlled environment for it
