I am fed up with habitats. Why? It's way too much micro! The AI spammed 10 of them in a system, then I conquer it, and OMG! I want to tear them down :( Why are they such a pain? Can't we just merge them into a planet they orbit if it's habitable? Allowing for additional special districts? Can we have the ones that are stand alone be more expensive and bigger? The micro is killing me!

Yes you might say "Oh just auto the sector". Well Autoing sectors is way too much micro!

I honestly don't understand posts like yours and i've noticed quite a few of them... don't you realize sectors are currently broken? Have you not noticed the number 1 thing that kept the micro from spiralling out of control previously has now been butchered beyond all recognition?

The problem isn't X, Y or Z. It's that sectors are currently broke. And A, B or C will not fix it. Getting sectors working again will fix things.

I agree, still being able to destroy/tear down habitats at the rate of say the contingency worlds would be good even with fixed sectors.

The problem is that the Habitat Districts are fundamentally broken and have no reason to exist because their Districts are so bad. If you want Habitats that don't suck, then you must get the "Sensible Habitats" Mod.

The problem here though isn't their overall appeal (that is lacking) but the fact that every somewhat notable stellar body is a possible construction side potentially leaving us with many more planets to deal with.

This is why I don't bother conquering anything late game. Even planets would be too much micro, but habitats slow down the armageddon bombing/planet killer so damn much.

Right back at you.

If you really don't want them, you can resettle all the pops off of it, and then it becomes uninhabited.
Yeah sadly this will be what I must do to maintain my sanity. Now can I blow them up? Or do I need like some sort of a mod to hide the "planet is here" icon thing on starmap?

This is why I don't bother conquering anything late game. Even planets would be too much micro, but habitats slow down the armageddon bombing/planet killer so damn much.

Yeah, 6 per system, that will take forver, and we can only build one colassus. I think I need a MOD to build more!

I did that for my Rise of the Machines achievement run, for the first 50 colonies/habitats.

Unfortunately, my left click finger started aching a lot and I just said screw it, I only need to conquer them all anyway for the achievement.

The best (only) way I have found to play into the late-game without rage-quitting because of excessive micro, is to rely heavily on vassals.
Vassalization wars are a bit annoying, but you can also take something directly and then release it as a vassal.

And a lot of these vassals will collapse economically. But who cares? It's not like the ~5k fleet power they contribute in the best case would help you much anyway.

Players: "We want abandon colony button"
Paradox: "OK, you got it in these easy steps"
"Click on planet"
"Click resettle"
"Click to move one pop to another planet"
"Click 100 more times for 100 more pops"
"See, works exactly like abandon colony button!"
