No. You want the rulers that are good at what you choose, become republic.

The point of playing Monarchy, exactly is the fact that you on`t choose you ruller`s son/daughter abilities and have to be flexible and change your priorities, while Republic allows you to have stable goverment focused on one thing for centuries.

I agree insofar that you shouldn't be able to 'choose' what your heir is good in. However, I think small nudges in a certain direction could make for interesting gameplay.

Right now you can change your heir into a general. I think that should increase their military power a bit, if he survives it.
Similarly, why not allow your heir to change into a diplomat or into something administrative...y...uh... dunno.

Your idea it much better I'll vote for that, you can make your heir into a diplomat or maybe an adviser and some things will rub off. Or not! Might be interesting if there was a chance he could muck up if he was too bad

In that case, take away choice for player in republic when elections happen. Let the people choose. Or are saying you are okay with ballot stuffing?

This is totally irrelevant to the actual argument

He's right. If you want to choose your leader and avoid potentially crap heirs, go with a republic

If there are no positives/negatives to a type of government, then what is the point of having multiple types?
